We’ve booked at mount amanzi atleast twice a year since 2020. Normally the small issues are easily overlooked however this December 2024 there seems to be a breakdown of service delivery. We were booked into unit M28 for the period 27/12/24 - 03/01/2024 and from entering the unit was not maintained and had a general feel of neglect: Broken blinds Shoe marks on walls and ceiling Curtains falling off the rails Parts of thatch roof missing The patio which is the only place to sit and eat with your family in the unit gets flooded as soon as it rains. Most disappointingly is that during a storm at night one whole side of the unit started leaking (apparently quite a few units had this happen as well) followed by electricity cutting out. Eventually got moved to a different unit for the night, but only after I demanded something be done as the unit was not in any condition for staying in for the night. The resort management did come past to apologise for the inconvenience, Unfortunately the experience has left a sour taste, as we deal with maintenance issues at our own homes and it really is disappointing to have to deal with it at a paid vacation where the only thing we should be doing is having a great time, and we will be thinking twice about booking again as the resort is really not up-to the standards it used to be. On the plus side all the pools were in order and my kids did enjoy that as always. Some suggestions would be: 1. Serious maintenance and renovations need to be done for the units, with more frequent checks by the management. (Beyond just the superficial changing of the lounge furniture) 2. Bedding should be changed atleast once during a full week stay. 3. Some kind of plan to deal with blackouts especially at night as the one emergency light in the rooms is really not sufficient. (No lights outside either and the emergency light doesn’t last so at night you’re in complete darkness) 4. In this day and age the units should have WiFi even its charged but there really should be an option for it. 5. The reception desk closes way too early on check in day considering that check in is only at 4. (Initial maintenance issues had to be reported and solved by security as reception had not sorted before they closed).
