Finding a reasonably nice reasonable budget hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter is not an easy task. The usual case is properties with old furniture and not too well maintained. In this sense 22Land Residence was better than the majority, but not ideal. It was clean, the amenities were decent, the location is close to perfect, or maybe even perfect if you value peace and quiet more than having to roll your suitcase for 30 meters from the last point accessible by car. What I particularly would value are larger rooms but you know - it is what it is. :-) The other two things that i value very much In a hotel are a chair to work on, and a stand to put my suitcase on, but with this room size I understand why it’s not possible in this hotel. Other than that I felt there OK, and for the first time I actually appreciated having a room with window, but without city view (overlooking a dark shaft inside the building), because in that way you are having both some air if you decide to open the window, and the peace, quiet and zero mosquitoes that the so popular in Vietnam rooms without windows offer. Overall, I liked my stay and I’m not saying I won’t stay there again, even though i might be tempted by a place with larger rooms.
