I usually tolerate inconveniences well and rarely leave reviews, but my recent stay at Wilk Hotel Hanoi fell far below my expectations.
On the first night, the noise inside the room was so severe that I couldn’t sleep at all, leaving me exhausted for the next day’s schedule. The soundproofing was nonexistent, and I had to endure relentless noise for 24 hours—one of the most agonizing experiences of my life. It felt no different from sleeping on the street, and I genuinely thought I was losing my mind. Even someone who isn’t particularly sensitive to noise would struggle with the constant barrage of motorcycle engines, honking cars, and the vibrations of buses. After 24 hours of this, I believe anyone could develop a mental breakdown.
On the second night, I was given a different room, but it had a security issue—the door wouldn’t lock properly. After requesting a repair, I had to wait over an hour, which ate into my much-needed rest time and disrupted my plans once again.
A hotel has a fundamental responsibility to provide guests with a safe and comfortable environment, but this experience completely failed to fulfill that role. It ruined my entire trip to Vietnam and left me with a negative impression of the country itself. If you’re considering booking this hotel, I strongly urge you to think twice.
