Love the food and cottage

We stayed at Tongna Village for four nights in March 2025. On arrival, we were welcomed by a friendly lady. We had arrived a couple of hours early. However, no welcoming drink as shown in the promotional video. Instead, we were taken through to the jungle cafe, where we had to buy a drink and food while we waited for our room to be ready. We booked the 1 bedroom pool villa with living space. After a short wait, we were offered a choice of 3 pool villas, however they were all 2 bedroom pool villas without the living area. We selected our villa, just got our bags to the room when the lady was back, this time offering us the correct villa - pool villa 5. The rooms were clean, beds very comfortable. For the first couple of days, we were almost the only guests in the resort, and so room service, which is ordered via Line, was fast, our room was cleaned and generally service was good. On day 3, the resort was much busier with a family celebration of some kind, it was from here the service started to become almost non existent. We requested room service via Line. After an hour, not even an acknowledgement of our order, I went down to reception and popped into the cafe, not one employee to be seen, so we went out for lunch. It was around 5pm by the time we got back. The room still hadn't been made up, so had to ask at reception for fresh towels. On check out day, it was 9.30am and they were waiting with a trolly for our luggage. It seemed they were in a rush for us to check out. Other things to note: the sun beds do not have full length cushions as shown in promotional materials. The beds aren't that comfortable without at least a towel. There are no pool towels, you need use the ones from your room. Although reception will arrange for extra towels if you ask. The hotel / cafe doesn't take card payments, which was a surprise to us as we'd asked to charge all our room service to the room expecting we could pay by credit card on check out, instead we had to take a trip to the ATM to settle the bill. The hotel is directly under the flightpath to Chiang Mai International Airport, so flights are frequent - worth considering if you're looking for a quiet get away. In summary, it's a beautifully kept resort, but the standard of service is below what I'd have expected.

Very unique experience in these rustic but rather perfect cottages. Only complaint would be the outdoor shower definately could be hotter. Otherwise king bed was comfy, perfect pillows. One other person in the pool during our 3 day stay. If you want peace from busy city, this is the place. About 30 min from Chiang Mai airport. We took grab into Chiang Mai sunday market, and it was no problem, about 30 min each way. Cute village areas out in Hang Dong. I would stay again! Staff were great too.
