What a fantastic experience! Liz and David are such incredible hosts. Amazing breakfasts. Great recommendations as to what to do and where to eat. The warmth, the humour and the overall vibe I don’t think we’ve ever experienced in decades of travel. We came away feeling like we’d just been with a couple of new friends rather than being hosted in a BNB. Cannot recommend a stay here highly enough!

The Pebble is an exquiste B&B set in a quiet,tree-lined street with lovely bay views.No detail is spared within Elizabeth & David's welcoming home.You feel at ease the moment you step into their immaculate, inviting B&B.We stayed 3 nights enjoying delicious and varied breakfasts and complimentary port each night. But what I remember most is our morning conversations over freshly brewed coffee & the warmth,humour and authentic,hosptality of our wonderful host Elizabeth.She is the jewel that is The Pebble.

A wonderful B & B. From the moment we entered the house we felt welcome. The breakfasts were scrumptious and the coffee delicious every morning! Liz and David are kind, helpful and friendly hosts. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pebble. Liz, our warm and engaging host, made us feel comfortable as soon as we walked in. She served us tea and the most wonderful scones at her kitchen table and then asked us if we had dinner plans. It was late in the day, and we confessed that we didn’t have plans, so she instantly offered a suggestion. Within minutes, we had a plan for our evening and a dinner reservation. Liz gave us a unique way to see Halifax and also facilitated one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten. (And it wasn’t at an expensive restaurant!) The Pebble is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, but it’s also a convenient 30-minute walk to downtown. It’s also a beautiful home filled with lovely paintings from a local artist ( the gallery where Liz bought is another easy walk). Our comfortable room contained a luxurious bed and an expansive bathroom with a large tub, a fantastic shower, and a vase filled with fresh peonies. Our visit was made even more memorable by Liz’s stories. Don’t miss them! If we ever make it back to Halifax, we’ll be booking another stay at The Pebble.

This is a gem. A meticulously designed and curated home that is kept scrupulously clean and welcoming by hosts Elizabeth and Dave. Our room on the 3rd floor was private, comfortable, and had a lovely bathroom and shower. Our breakfast included yummy oatmeal, freshly baked scones, and a delicious house coffee blend. Elizabeth is charming and has all the time in the world — both before and after your arrival — to share dining recommendations, suggestions for hikes and cultural visits in Halifax and beyond, driving directions, stories, songs, books…we were sorry to tear ourselves away a full 90 minutes later than our planned departure times! Many thanks for a perfect stay!

A Truly Unforgettable 50th Birthday Celebration in Halifax My husband and daughter treated me to a weekend getaway in Halifax for my 50th birthday—a perfect blend of relaxation, fun, and adventure. While the trip itself was wonderful, what made it extraordinary was our stay at “The Pebble Bread and Breakfast”. From the moment we arrived, the B&B enveloped us in warmth, as if we were being welcomed into a lovingly curated home rather than just a rental. The space was beautifully decorated, with immaculate finishing touches that showcased an impeccable sense of design, balance, and aesthetic. Every detail was thoughtfully placed, creating an atmosphere that was both visually stunning and deeply comforting—like a "warm hug." What made our stay truly magical was the genuine connection we formed with Liz, our host. Beyond her natural warmth and attentiveness, we discovered shared passions that led to the most meaningful conversations. The highlight for me was our long talks where we bonded over our common interests in pottery, art, literature, and history—but most profoundly, over our lived experiences as immigrants. We shared stories about the challenges, opportunities, and unique perspectives that come with building a life away from home. These conversations, filled with both laughter and reflection, transformed our stay from simply comfortable to deeply meaningful. In my opinion, Liz and David exemplify what the true hospitality industry calls "unobtrusive service." It’s the little things that elevate your stay—details so thoughtfully executed they make you pause in appreciation. For instance, one small but unforgettable moment captured their attention to detail perfectly: When we returned from dinner one evening, we found our room restored to its shipshape tidiness during turndown service. But it was the bathroom that truly delighted me—as I entered, I was greeted by a subtle, sweet fragrance, and there, by the sink, stood a fresh bunch of lilacs in a vase, freshly cut from their garden. That small gesture made the space feel like home all over again, inviting us to unwind and savor the moment! I could go on and on, but all I can say is: “I cannot recommend this place enough!” On a scale of 1 to 5, I’d give it a 5 plus 1—just for Liz’s thoughtfulness and warmth. The Pebble B&B isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience that lingers in your heart long after you’ve left. If you’re looking for hospitality that feels both luxurious and deeply personal, this is your haven in Halifax!
