"Read all the previous guests' reviews. Many of the wonderful attributes of this B&B have already been described so I will endeavor not to be too repetitive. John has created an exemplary B&B within his meticulously restored and maintained Victorian home. Although John was not at home when I arrived, I was greeted by Jazz music softly playing throughout the common areas. I felt very much at home enjoying the sunroom and the refreshments offered. My two-room suite with a private bath was well appointed and meticulously clean. The bed was extremely comfortable with crisply ironed sheets. I look forward to staying there again!"

"We were visiting family and friends on our recent round-trip, road trip north. We made reservations to meet friends at a great restaurant in Halifax and wanted lodging nearby. We were delighted to have found the Charles Bass House. Not only was it a beautiful mansion, the accommodations were absolutely delightful. Our host was most welcoming and generous with available beverages and an ambiance to enjoy a peaceful time after a very long drive. Our room was quite comfortable, expansive and exceeded our expectations. We wanted an early start upon departure and John prepared our breakfast as we dined in an elegant setting. We would highly recommend a stay at the Charles Bass House and intent to stay again when we travel on our next road trip into Virginia."
