Shibden Mill Inn

An absolute gem of a place. We stayed for 2 nights Room 9 it was a beautiful room light and airy with a massive bed and a breath and shower. Little touches like cookies I. The room, an espresso machine and the radio on just added to the charm. We were booked in to eat both nights and I am so glad we did. First night we chose the taster menu it was amazing (especially the beef tartare) 7 courses of sublime food, just the right size and spaced just right so you could enjoy every morsel. The 2nd night we chose off the main menu again the food was amazing, I had to have the beef tartare for starters (it would have been rude not to). The inn itself is fabulous lots of dark little corners to secret yourself away, set in a valley by a stream (which you can fall asleep to the sound at night - bliss) the staff could not be more helpful attentive and friendly, they made our stay pleasurable and were absolute diamonds! This is a great place for walkers (I am not a walker and loved it anyway) we had a fabulous stay and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to switch off for a while. Oh and finally the breakfast was, of course amazing all locally sourced ingredients. It deserves 6 stars

Six of us went on Sunday 9th to celebrate an 81st birthday. Although a reduced menu for a Sunday, the choices (including 2 exceptional Vegan ones) was delightful and the food and presentation was top notch. Desserts were just as good. They also brought a birthday plate for my Mother in law.

This was our second night stop on our way back from Scotland. It is set in a secluded location and the surroundings are beautiful. The room was comfortable and well equipped. The towels were perfect! The staff were friendly and the food was lovely.

Had a 3 course Christmas meal at Shibden meal inn…. Reasonably priced for the time of year. The focaccia was lovely, as was the torched trout. Terrine a little firm, stone bass good. The turkey dinner was disappointing (something I don’t normally have) as it was smothered with over-seasoned gravy; which sadly spoiled the whole experience.

This was our third time visiting Shibden Mill Inn. It was as perfect as always. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was gorgeous, with a huge comfortable bed and roll top bath. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and the Christmas decorations were the finishing touch to a perfect stay. Thank you.

We were a party of 10 out for our annual Christmas meal. Eight of us chose the pork for our main course which whilst we were warned it would be pink we did expect it to be tender. However, it was so tough and fatty we were unable to cut through it and at the end of the meal most of it was left on our plates. Our lovely waitress duly apologised and informed the kitchen but no one from either the kitchen or the management came to see us to address our concerns. We were very disappointed with the food as a whole, particularly as we had been the previous year and the food had been lovely. The 3 stars given are for the young waitress who couldn’t have been better.
