The Church Accommodation

The hotel was in a convenient location, and most of all, the room was very cosy and warm, even in winter. The staff was very kind and welcoming. It was a truly great experience.

It is one of our favourite places in the country. Large rooms, great showers, very cosy, and check-in is a breeze. It is a great place to visit in any weather. Roomy and cosy to be in during the rain. Great for hot summer evenings. Simple but stylish.

This destination is really cool. My room was beautiful and the staff were so friendly. I was able to walk to the Church Bistro for dinner 2 of the nights I was there. Apparently the place was full on Saturday night but I wasn't aware of anyone else. It felt secluded and peaceful. So handy to the bus to go to Cathedral Cove and that path is much better than the old one. I went to Hot Water Beach and had a lovely time meeting people from all over the world. The breakfast on a tray was enough to fill me until the evening meal and so delicious. I will be coming back.

Spent one night here during our Coromandel tour. It’s well located as a base for visiting Hot Water Beach or Cathedral Cove. The room we booked (Apartment #1) felt like a mini cottage. The entire property has a rustic charm but has clearly seen better days. That said, everything was clean, the gardens were well maintained, and the bed was comfortable. The reception isn’t staffed at all times, but you can check yourself in before 3:30 PM and use the room. Later, we met the owner, who gave us some helpful tips for the next leg of our trip. The breakfast, which was included in the booking, was placed in our room/fridge during the afternoon. Had the weather been better—unfortunately we had some bad luck—we would have enjoyed breakfast on the lovely terrace. There is a leased restaurant on the property, but the menu didn’t appeal to us in the evening. For dinner, we can recommend The Pour House in Hahei. The food was delicious, and they serve freshly tapped beer from their own brewery. It’s also a great place to mingle with plenty of locals. If you plan to spend time in or around Hahei, this accommodation is worth considering.

Very cosy accommodation. We stayed in a cottage which was very comfortable and private. Anna was the perfect host and so friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend The Church Accommodation to anyone wanting to stay in Hahei. They even gave us great tips for visiting Hot Water Beach.

We stayed in the House and it was fantastic! Beautiful, roomy, peaceful and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out in the yard and looking at the stars at night. The staff are so helpful and welcoming. Full of wonderful suggestions for things to do. Bonus that they have shovels and beach towels available for hot beach. We really enjoyed Hahei. It is a sweet little community with a beautiful beach and fun brewery, great cafe and delicious Church restaurant. Best meal we had all trip. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.
