The Other Corner Habarana

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The staff are so friendly, welcoming and go above and beyond, always with a smile on their faces. The rooms are really spacious, clean and have everything you need including a great shower and comfy bed. It's set out with cabins dotted around the grounds so it's very private and quiet (birds tweeting and animal noises aside!) I would also strongly recommend the hotel restaurant as the food is delicious! The hotel grounds are so well maintained and absolutely stunning with so many beautiful plants and a lovely pool. The owner is very passionate about animals and the environment so the hotel is very eco friendly and has an abundance of wildlife such as chipmunks, monitor lizards, monkeys, peacocks, butterflies, etc.. Waking up to birds tweeting in the trees is magical!

Magnifique endroit avec de jolis cottages, un superbe jardin potager. Le personnel est aux petits soins et la nourriture raffinée. L’accès se fait par un petit pont en bois au dessus de la rivière. Les chambres perchées sont très confortables, on se sent très près de la nature.

We recently enjoyed a 1 night stay at The Other Corner. Our accommodation was excellent, the gardens beautiful and the staff were very warm and accommodating. We availed ourselves of the express laundry service which was excellent and very reasonably priced. The food was delicious and the wait staff very attentive. We did participate in a night walk here and we were a little disappointed in our experience. Next visit we would forego the walk and enjoy a more leisurely dinner.

Great place to stay for birding. Very comfortable accommodation and excellent food. Nearby "tank" (lake) great for birds and the on sight vegetable garden also attracted a great variety of easily photographed birds. Stayed here on our way from Mannar to Kitulgala and provided a great change in climate and therefore bird species observed.

Our first place in Sri Lanka and we loved it. It is so charming and authentic. The food is amazing and we loved the dining area. We sat outside our lodge watching the birds and monkeys and listening to the wild sounds all around us. But best of all were the staff, nothing was too much trouble and they were always kind, respectful and courteous Highly recommended

We spent two nights here with our family, and would have happily stayed for longer if we could have. We received a wonderful reception when we arrived, and also had great experiences with all the other staff, particularly the restaurant staff. Food was amazing and plentiful, and very accommodating of children's preferences. We were grateful to Susantha who took us on an impromptu tour of the grounds, lake and spillway. We had experiences organised outside the grounds, but there were also plenty of activities offered by the hotel itself.
