The owner and host Pascal is very warm, eager to please, excitable and very outgoing. There is a happy hour for guests and Pascal everyday and it is nice to make friends with other guests. A very nice breakfast is good included daily. A short 5-8 minute drive to the lovely but crowded town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue. Pascal helped us book last minute dinner reservations in L'isle sur la Sorgue, which isn't easy to do last minute in September. We especially enjoyed Le Jardin du Quai. Only a four course with no choices at 52 Euros pp. We enjoyed it so much we ate there our last two nights. The ”resort” is in an old Carmelite building that has had refurbishment. It is more rustic Provencal than contemporary. There is an outside covered fairly extensive exercise room, a nice pool, and a very peaceful feel outside on the property. The bees at breakfast were bothersome but nobody got stung and they seemed benign. The clientele was international, but more than 1/2 French. Pascal speaks and understands English well. Les Carmes is quite different than most other places in the region. It reminds me a bit of the Golden ages of travel in the 1950s. It is the opposite of sterile and has a real heart and center.

Jean-Luc is the most welcoming host. He allowed us to check-in early and had the aircon in our room already turned on to cool it down. The quad room itself is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is filling with cheeses, cold-cuts and pastries (and an order to finish everything!!). Jean-Luc also gave us very helpful restaurant recommendations (Le 46 in particular).

Spacious room with garden view. Good location 3 mins to town and 15 mins to famous lavender field. Reception will give you their best recommendations. Breakfast is expensive at 21euro per pax. Lavender field can be viewed from the hotel too.

Super convenient as it is close to the train station. Rooms are big and clean. Good price. Highly recommend if you want to leverage Avignon as the stay point to explore nearby cities like Nimes, Arles etc. The hotel also provides 1-day trip brochures from other third parties.
