I had booked the room for two nights my wife and my 2 year old. It was my 10th wedding anniversary. The property is located in a very nice quaint place. The food and the amenities are great. The service and especially i want to point out the quality of rooms is sub par compared to how much you are paying for this property. Upon requesting a cleaner room, the staff said, sir its a 8 year old property, what do you expect? i was shocked. I thought well if its a 8 year old property then charge me prices from 8 years ago. Then to my utter displeasure, the room ac was pathetic. I requested a change of room 3 times at different times of the day. Every time they said please allow me a few minutes we will get back to you. I stayed calm. Did not fight or argue. Nothing. No call back received. I did not want to spoil me or my wife's mood. They did not even bother to call me back to tell me that they did not have rooms available or whatever xyz reason. Although, rooms were available in the property. Now the funny part and the most annoying part is, on the day of the checkout, the resort had the audacity of calling me 15 mins before the check out time of 12noon and to remind me my check out time. At checkout i narrated this whole incidence to the hotel manager and he apologised and tried to offer to waive off my lunch bill of meagre 1500 rupees to buy out my grievance. The balls on this guy. I declined. I can afford a good lunch for my family. No thanks. Then offered to upgrade me to a better room next time. I explicitly told him i am never returning to your property again. Horrendous experience. Even here i was calm, i did not shout or lose my temper. But i guess as people of our nation, until you show these emotions, you are not listened to. Sorry but i don't want to stoop to that level. I would ask marriott to look into this matter with utmost seriousness because it means i can be subjected to such treatment in their hotels all across the globe.
