Moodhumaa Inn

I recently stayed at a hotel on Guraidoo Island and had an amazing experience. The owner of the hotel was incredibly kind, helpful, patient, and always greeted us with a smile. He personally picked us up from the port and guided us to the hotel, answering all our questions along the way. His excellent command of English and deep knowledge of the island made our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend reaching out to him for organizing your day on the island. Our room was well-equipped with a comfortable double bed, a spacious wardrobe, a TV, and air conditioning. The private bathroom was clean and stocked with basic toiletries. The hotel features a lovely outdoor kitchen, and we were treated to delicious Maldivian-style breakfasts. The owner made a genuine effort to ensure we felt welcome and well taken care of. Located in the center of the island, the hotel is just a short walk from Bikini Beach and the port, making it very convenient. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Guraidoo Island!

Hostal muy sucio y poco cuidado. El desayuno muy pobre y nos sirvieron la fruta con bichos. El dueño al principio parecía amable, pero al final de la estancia nos sorprendió cobrándonos tasas extra que en ninguno momento aprecia en la reserva. Es un timador, porque en los demás alojamientos no cobraban nada aparte.

Ugly black MOLD/mould in the bathroom. Wall in the guest room is wet (wall opposite the entry door - visible water damage), black mold there also, the mold has just been "painted over" with white color. Bellow the color the wall is still moldy. Bed very uncomfortable (cheap), ugly wall protection from cheap plastic. Guests are forced to take off their shoes in front of the whole building. Modest tasteless breakfast. This B&B gives you only tap water, which is not drinkable for foreiners and you end up with an upset stomach, or sick. The B&B is located on the main street with hundreds of scooters and motorbikes. I could not sleep even using ear plugs. On the top of it you get all the exhaust pollution from all the motorbikes and scooters.

I came to Maldives not knowing the genuine authenticity of this place and how wonderful and welcoming the community was. Our first point of contact was the phenomenal staff at Moodhumaa Inn. In particular, the owner Mr Latif who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was superb. Our trip and stay were smooth because of this kind man. Upon arrival at Velena airport, we were greeted by the hotel representative who happened to be his son. Our luggage was escorted to the airport’s speedboat station. Our speed boat trip to Guraidhoo Island (where the Inn is located) was arranged by the hotel and all we had to do was pay in USD the boat staff when aboard. Payment can be made upon boarding or upon arrival to Ghuraidoo in cash. The duration of the trip from Male to Guraidhoo was approximately 50min. Upon arrival to the island, Mr Latif personally greeted us at the harbor. Our luggage was handled by the hotel staff and delivered to our hotel room. The Inn was only a short distance walk from the ocean. A cute boutique hotel with very comfortable & spacious rooms with complementary continental and Maldivian breakfast that will bring joy to your heart. HIGHLY recommend trying their tuna-coconut dish with chapati, a true staple! I literally looked forward to breakfast every morning! the wonderful thing about this is that breakfast time is super flexible and all you have to do is inform Mr Latif the night prior of your wishes. You will be provided with a booklet detailing all the local activities and pricing, all of which will be arranged safely by the hotel. We chose to go on a couple of fishing trips (morning and night fishing) which was nothing but spectacular! We got a chance to meet local fishermen like Mr Ibbu who showed us the ropes and took us deep sea night fishing. At the end of our trip, the hotel arranged for a delicious grilled fish dinner (caught by us) which we enjoyed by the end of the night. Everything was paid for in USD, matter of fact USD is accepted everywhere on the island. The hotel will provide currency exchange at anytime which was very convenient. Other excursions including visits to other islands (eg the nearby Maafushi island), extravagant resort day trips, sand bank picnic trips and scenic photo session locations are all options. Simply inform Mr Latif and he will make it happen. Payment for the hotel room can be made in cash upon arrival or anytime throughout your stay. The Inn itself is only a couple of minutes walking distance from the beautiful bikini beach and local top notch restaurants. Everything on the island is walking distance from the Inn. Highly highly highly recommend considering Moodhumaa Inn when visiting the Maldives!

Best accommodation I have ever stayed at. Cozy, clean and personal. Latif, who works/owns the place, is fantastically nice and makes sure to organize excursions that fit our wishes. Very good breakfast too, I will miss it! The island is fantastically cozy and a very nice beach where you are almost to yourself with sunbeds and shade for free. Perfect internet as well!
