Had a fantastic night at The Fountain. Celebrating my wife's 50th, the staff were fantastic. Looked after us all night and couldn't do enough for us. The food and cocktails fab. Thank you and highly recommend. A cracking country pub in a lovely spot.

We really enjoyed our meal again on Wednesday night. The beef cheek was delicious and so rich and the special ice cream was divine. Our friends enjoyed it very much too. My only other comment is we found the Prawns Pil Pil which we shared, although tasty, over priced at £9.95 for only five prawns. However, an enjoyable meal overall.

I took my mam out for some dinner Friday teatime she had the crab i had the pork chop absolutely brilliant food and even better waitress service. Everyone and everything was top notch big shout out to the waitress service will be there again soon 😀 👍

Perfect location for lunch after a walk round the reservoir. We were warmly greeted and given the choice to sit anywhere. Staff were well informed of offers and dishes which made it easy to choose. I had the most delicious soup with just enough focaccia. My daughter had the hot chicken sandwich and we shared the best chips ever. What an absolute gem .

Fabulous food on a busy Mother’s Day. Excellent service and attention from staff. Food was excellent. Always dubious to dine out when it’s special events as some restaurants pack em in and stack em high. This experience on Mother’s Day was faultless. Mum thoroughly enjoyed herself. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Three of us went for lunch on a Sunday. The Fountain has lovely surroundings and I would think attracts a lot of walk-in trade. We had booked in advance and the food was great and despite it being very busy, with a function being held in addition to trade from regular diners, we received exceptional service.

This is a really lovely pub - welcoming to both humans and dogs. It was refurbished about 2 years ago and was done exceptionally well - smart but in a friendly way with a real fire on one part of the pub. The food was excellent (hot chicken and bacon club sandwich) with portion sizes good but not too much. Then, just because we had walked for 2 hours with another 2 hours to go, we had pudding (warm brownie for me and crumble and custard for my husband) that was excellent too - definitely recommended as a place to eat.

After playing Pickleball on Friday night we called in for a quick drink. The atmosphere and ambience & beer was very good, so we decided to book a table for the following Saturday. A table at 7:30pm for 2 & I had battered haddock, the most tasty chips, home-made tartar sauce. My partner had chicken with couscous. potato rosti and vegetables all served in a bowl. We cannot fault the meal, the service, the beer or the wine. Equally as important was the bill which included 2 1/2 pints of hand pumped beer, one glass of Pinot Grigio plus food & service for £45.70. Id give this more than five out of five if possible and we will return.

Very nice scenic location. Ideal for walkers/campers. Lovely interior with wooden modern floor and oak beam ceilings. Dog friendly. Plenty of seating outside under shelter. Clearly a lot of effort put into the place. Could of had a bit more on my dinner plate, but the quality was top drawer. Will definitely come back.
