My wife and two daughters stayed at this hotel in May for a dance competition they were participating in. While they were at the competition, hotel staff left the door unlocked and wide opened after servicing the room for a period of almost twelve hours while no one was in the room. When we brought this complaint up to hotel management, their response was to provide a voucher for a one night future stay at the hotel. When we responded that we were dissatisfied, as we would not have any reason to use the voucher before its expiration after the conclusion of the dance tournament, we were told that was all they could offer. Attempts to escalate this security complaint were redirected back to hotel staff, to which my complaint was dismissed. Both times the hotel reached back to me (upon my request via Hilton Guest Services) I spoke to a front desk supervisor who advised that the manager "does not take calls from customers" and that ownership "treats Guelph like New York" and would not be providing me any compensation aside from a voucher I would not use. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS HOTEL - their disregard of guest safety, security, and concern is extremely alarming and, in the event that you are dissatisfied with any part of your stay, you will be given whatever "compensation" they deem fit regardless of whatever your thoughts on the matter may be.
