"What a shocking hotel. Definitely not the 4 star as advertised. Firstly we were not contacted by the Hotel to inform us we would not be able to drive to it to drop off our luggage as there was a lot of roadworks and some of these were outside the Hotel. We had to park in the car park and drag our cases up the hill and finally up the very steep stone steps at the side of the Hotel. Very poor customer service. The room was supposed to be a superior room but it was very basic and the furniture and bathroom had seen better days. Our room was next to the breakfast room so we were awoken very early by crashing and banging of cutlery, plates, etc. All in all not a good experience and glad we were only there for 1 night. That said, the town of Gubbio is beautiful and worth a visit"

"This was such a beautiful hotel + setting! The grounds are so serene. We felt very well cared for while here. We were 2 adults + 1 child in a room, they even set out an extra kids robe for my son which he got such a kick out of. The pool was pretty cool, our son enjoyed playing and swimming there. My only complaint (and a very American one at that) is that the air conditioning was VERY loud, and frankly not very powerful even for all the noise it made. But this is a seasonal issue so I cant take off a star for that!"

The girl at the reception offered us an upgrade but the management is completely absent, the structure absolutely needs a lot of improvements and care for the guest's comfort... TV and hairdryer from the 90s... Very poor breakfast... The rather low quality/price ratio.. absolutely to be avoided.. there is better..."

"We stayed one night at the Castello just before Christmas and enjoyed it immensely! It combined old world charm with modern comforts, with delicious meals as well! The rooms were warm and spacious, with decor that makes you feel you’ve just stepped into a fairy tale. The staff were friendly and accommodating, addressing our many queries in the months leading up to the stay; and while we were there, granted us access to the old tower for breathtaking views. Wished we could have stayed longer.
