The issue with many of these hotels is the smoking. It’s just unbelievable how un-regulated smoking is here. Other guests and staff will be smoking throughout the hotel! The smell is everywhere! In the lifts, air vents, everywhere. I booked a non-smoking room but the smell still permeates through the room. And also, the pictures were very misleading. The room had dirty marks everywhere. The walls, the floor in the bathroom. The bathroom had leaks as well. Overall just not what the pictures showed. Quite disappointing. The laundry room is well equipped but the whole floor is being constructed. So many things just didn’t make sense. The bedding was clean though, and the cleaning staff were friendly. And the room was a big size with a large comfortable bed.

While the hotel lobby and some public spaces like guest laundry have been renovated to look new, the rooms are not renovated at all. Rooms look dilapidated inside, with stains on the floor, on the walls, and in the toilet.

This was my second experience with Jinjiang Inn hotels. First time, I stayed at Jinjiang Inn Shenzhen where I had a wonderful experience. That experience prompted me to book Jinjiang Inn in Guangzhou. The Jinjiang Inn building in Guangzhou is pretty old and not well-maintained. No room service was available, not even for dropping the luggage. I had to request the so-called reception twice to ask someone to carry my luggage as I was carrying a couple of bags. Finally, the security guard helped me with the luggage. Room’s floor was all wet when I entered. No lobby or space for work or just relaxing. The charging port was broken and detached. Overall, it was a bad experience.
