Chimelong Xiangjiang hotel is not directly inside the Chimelong park complex and you need to take shuttle buses every day to access the park. They ran approximately hourly and if you miss them; you will need to organise a taxi separately.
It is a good hotel for kids, especially if you want something a bit smaller and not so overwhelming for the kids. There was a small kids area, a mini driving course and some claw machines (paid for separately).
The chinese restaurant connected to the hotel had delicious food, but once again, don’t expect too much service! The staff were friendly, but perhaps understaffed and undertrained. We didn’t try the buffet dinner, as we needed to attend the circus the first night which we couldn’t recommend enough! A spectacular show indeed!
We had a great time, but we struggled a little as foreigners to check-in using passports and get an introduction to how everything works. Highly recommend travelling with a local or someone who speaks fluent mandarin to make it a less stressful experience.
But the safari experience and circus show was well worth it! The kids had an amazing time!
