Boutique Hotel Glacier Grindelwald Service & Quality is VERY INFERIOR. Not at all what you expect from a Boutique hotel. High price for a very poor service. To note we are not staying for the first time in the valley, as we participate often to the sport races. Highly recommend to stay at other places like Eiger hotel and even at the B&B that are in thr valley. The posh name Boutique and Glacier inspire quality, top service and high price tag. We had everything but not quality and nor top service. We have chosen a high classed hotel as we have taken part in a 20 hours sport race and we wanted no problems, but honestly we could of gone to a B&B or a farmhouse at the top of Grindelwald and we would had a lot better service and happy people. 1) My credit card swiped for guarantee 500 chf, but with prove to hand, my bank account was debited immediately 2) no option to offset final bill less the so called guarantee 500 chf 3) the 500 chf was only refunded after 20 days .....all thank you to hotel using my 500 chf). 4) another warning _ fresh orange juice at breakfast is payables.....wahoo ...a shock for a boutique hotel 5) the room was not made up, despite we were out since 8 am to 2 pm.....excellent service for a boutique hotel 6) the safe bicycles storage room is in the middle of the hotel gym......great security for our 15 000 chf worth of bikes, we decided to keep them in the car. Strange I have asked in advance, well before arrival that we need safe storage for the bicycles and response was ohhh yes....we have safe storage for the sport equipment storage. First time in Switzerland hotels that we face incompetence at what means safe storage for bicycles. 7) front desk reception _ on both days the same person, very unpleasant and disregarding completely my bank debit 500 chf. Although initially was told thatvwill investigate with the vack office the following morning before our check out. Strange that was mentioned that is not the first time that clients to the Glacier hotel face this problem and we should sort out with our own bank. 8) we had a late afternoon tea and cake in the bar, we had to stand up and ask for the bill. The bill came finally overcharged with cocktails, I believe mixed up with the next table order and all that ......in non busy period, bearly 6 people between the bar and very expensive restaurant (luckily we have not put at test also that part of the hotel) FINAL REPONSE AFTER over 3 months from famous Boutique hotel: no funds were held, the hotel charges / credit cards are managed by third party hence was recommended that we pursue further investigations with our bank to resolve the issue. As a gesture of goodwill, the hotel was inviting us to book again and we will be offered la glass of champagne What can I say as a Client? A champagne glass does not work with our lifestyle, we are a lot more simpler and 500 chf taken away from the clients' bank account under a guarantee cover up, is a lot more damaging for our
