We had the most amazing overnight stay. On arrival we were met by Ian who is so friendly and makes you feel at home straight away. The folly is set in the most beautiful gardens lovingly tended by Ian. Once inside we were met by Hazel who is simply a lovely person and shown to our room. The interior is breathtaking and has been restored to the most amazing standard. Our room was incredible with the most beautiful 4 poster bed bought and assembled by Hazel who went on to explain various features and how the folly was renivated. The attention to detail is extrodinary: beautiful decor, bath robes, mini fridge stocked with fruit, water and milk. We even had a torch provided to get us home from the nearby pub as it gets pitch black at night. Outside our room was a lovely lounge for our use. Breakfast was one of the best we've had. Hazel was so attentive and the food was all local and delicious. Thank you both for an amazing stay.

I am not often short of words but this place and more importantly friendliness has left me feeling so very blessed! From arrival and meeting Ian I knew we had arrived somewhere very special. Ian was just the sort of person you want to meet on arrival, friendly, personable and just a nice bloke! However as he walked us through the beautiful garden , using his horticulture knowledge to explain each plant we asked him about, I’m afraid he was trumped by the lovely Hazel (sorry Ian) what a beautiful soul, she clearly cares so much about this place but also cares so much about people who stay here. You will NEVER get the warm friendly reception from any hotel compared to this! I can’t over emphasise how welcoming. And so to our room. It was so lovely, lacked nothing and was so clean and immaculate. We even had a lounge outside the room. I would honestly say, having been a very well travelled individual for many years, if I had to end up somewhere permanently after all those hotels over so those years this spot would be up there in my top 5!!

A lovely warm welcome at this stunning location was what I and my daughter experienced Aug 2024. The house and gardens are beautiful. The room was really beautiful. Warm decor made a really cosy feel. Its the little touches which actually set this stay above the rest. Real milk for the fridge, bathrobes to borrow and fluffy towels. The breakfast was delicious with a huge choice. It was so well presented and tasted amazing!

Great Welcome. Beautiful room with everything you need surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees at the entrance to Greystoke Castle. Lovely walk around the Castle Grounds Super comfortable bed Fabulous breakfast. Thank you Hazel, everything was perfect.

Hazel was the perfect host. We had a fantastic night in her beautiful home. Stunning folly & gardens, very comfortable four poster bed, beautiful breakfast. Altogether a really lovely stay. Keep doing what you are doing Hazel! Thank you so much, Carrie x

Welcome 12/10, room 12/10, breakfast 12/12. Fantastic all round. Lovely area, fantastic gardens- worth visiting just for the gardens. Great pub 5 minutes walk away. Hosts very welcoming. Nothing to fault. Will definitely return. Paul Schofield

Brilliant location, tucked away in castle grounds with fabulous gardens which we sat in on a warm evening after a lovely meal at the local pub which was only a short walk away. We had the top floor suite overlooking the gardens which was comfortable and spacious. Every item in the room was well thought out and I couldn't think of a single thing that wasn't provided. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choices, and good sized portions. The owners were such lovely people. I didn't want to leave and will definitely be going back later this year. It was an absolute Jewel of a find, and cannot recommend it enough.

This was a charming refreshing first visit. The owners, gardens, house and village have loads of character and it was a genuine delight to stay on our way North. Plenty to enjoy locally too; all, we thought, at a much slower pace than our SW England. We will certainly return.
