Handy spot for well cooked and great value pub food at Gretna. Menu is comprehensive and caters for all tastes across our family of 5. We use this as our regular dinner stop on trips back from England. The staff are all lovely and welcoming, food is always served quickly even when busy without any compromise on quality.

Decided to call in for dinner on our way home, I had the home made Steak Pie and my wife had the Chicken Curry and both meals were simply delicious. We could not fault anything about this establishment, the service that was received was first class. Well done to management and staff for looking after us, can't wait to go back.

We recently got married in Gretna, we and all our wedding party stayed here for 2 nights. We could not fault a single thing, from booking in, the bedrooms, function room, food, bar, all staff went over and above to make us all very welcome. The cleanliness and friendliness were second to none. It has a 'family' feeling and nothing is too much trouble. All our guests have said what an amazing time they had and that is all down to the Team at the Solway. We hadn't really made arrangements for the evening following our Wedding, as we were holding our main 'Evening Reception Party' when we got home to Cheshire, but after the meal, Fiona sorted out a speaker for us, had the tables moved to make more room, we played our own music and danced the night away until the early hours. Lovely hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent from the moment we checked in to when we left. Very good breakfast. Lovely and central ideal for visiting the area. Well equipped bedroom's and shower room. Would definitely recommend

We had our wedding reception here, having organised it over the phone with Nicky as we are living in Dorset. From my initial phone call in December 2023 to the actual wedding, we cannot fault the service, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent with 5 choices for starters and main courses. A professional service and would highly recommend

When we arrived nobody was on reception so we had to go looking for someone. All the time we were there nobody was on reception. We stayed in room 17. Room was clean but very small and very warm. Shower was really a tight squeeze. No decent shower gels or soaps. Only a sachet and the soap bar was tiny and didn't smell great. The view from the window was really disappointing as it was the top of a roof, I presume from the kitchen. Television didn't work. Twice someone said they would sort it but didn't. Staff were lovely and the meals were delicious.

We booked this venue for a family get together and could not have found a better place Helpful , friendly and responsive staff . Great buffet and room space Place has a homely welcoming feel and staff are very helpful Room size and layout perfect for our group of 50
