We stayed two nights; one on the way to the Highlands and one on the way back. Check in was very good and staff very friendly. Our bedrooms were large with a decent sized bathroom (shower over the bath), but generally it felt a little tired. One of our rooms was on the side of the hotel facing the A74 and it was noisy. Breakfast was okay with a decent selection and the two evening meals we ate in the hotel resteraunt were quite good, but pricey. Staff were very friendly (apart from one), but service was quite slow.

Grim, dirty hotel which should be so much more. We came late after a long drive in anticipation of our wedding. The restaurant served possibly one of the worst meals I have had for a long time. I believe the mash was dehydrated potato (smash), and everything else was just not good. The room was dirty with stains on the walls (definitely don’t bring a black light), and the bathroom has mould and dirt. The tiles and floor were not clean. We don’t get it. The staff are lovely, the wedding coordinator was the best, but the hotel is a massive disappointment and so unnecessary as it is the only place to stay for a wedding. We decided it was a part of the memories. Just not the best part .

We went for a relatives wedding, it was well planned and the staff were very helpful. Food was good too. Our room was clean and comfortable. It would have been better if there was a way to have brighter lighting when needed as our room only had one window and the lighting was not bright . The other small thing was that the refreshments were not restocked after our first night , we didn't mention it at the time because we worked round it

Enjoyed a 3 night stay for my birthday with my partner and the staff were lovely,food delicious and everywhere accessible as Iam on a mobility scooter,keeping it as a possibility for our wedding in the future. Only drawback is no food after 2100hrs or room service now I'm sure if asked they would have rustled up a sandwich but my partner not keen to ask and he was starving !! No information booklet in our room,we didn't even know the number for reception,I had to use my mobile and go through main switchboard,a bit silly when only upstairs

Went for family wedding. Wedding it's self in the blacksmiths was wonderful but stayed in cottages adjoining hotel really dirty paint peeling cobwebs and very dated. Hotel is the same. As for wedding reception food payed for 20 guests silver menu the beef was wafer thin like sandwich beef, and all very dry. Breakfast is no better hard eggs bacon you couldn't chew and frozen bread.

Stayed here for a night end September on a Saturday evening… staff all very nice , food excellent and worthy of the star rating. However the place looks modern from the outside but inside it’s stuck in the 70’s .. too many dull colours and brown theme is a complete no no .. The room we stayed in 25 was dull , dingy and dirty . Alex polizzi would have had a meltdown and walked out . This room needs a complete refresh from decoration to a new carpet to extract the layers of dust you can see ingrained into it . Every edge on top of skirting boards , pictures , bedside tables against the wall etc etc were covered in dust . There were even 2 hair grips on the floor. Additional improvements could be usb sockets by the bed . All in all premier inn rooms are far nicer and cleaner . A real shame given the nice location.

We stayed here for 2 nights for our vow renewal. Rooms are beautiful, staff and service impeccable. Very romantic ambience and everything went amazingly. Restaurant was superb with a good range of dishes. If you book the stay, dine and celebrate package, you get a bottle of bubbly and £25 each towards an evening meal. Highly recommended for your special day. Our Minister, Graeme Murray and photographer Bill Black went above and beyond for our very special ceremony Thank you all so much. Mark and Dawn Owen

Arrived and greeted in friendly way at reception. Had lovely balcony room that was clean, everything in working order. Ate in the hotel evening meal and breakfast, food was fine on both occasions all staff were engaging and friendly with us. We had drinks at the bar in the afternoon with all staff very engaging and pleasant. Thank you for s lovely stay.

The most friendliest ever Hotel!! Nothing was too much trouble. Bed was so comfortable, room was lovely, great bathroom, gorgeous toiletries. We stayed here on the eve of our elopement to Gretna Green and was not disappointed! Lots of couples here tying the knot but all were treated individually and made to feel so special
