The Mayfair Hotel

What can I say , free parking well located metres from pier . Although hotel is an old Victorian building if you can see past repairs the room is exceptional clean bed comfy shower spotless tea cofeee fridge and well at £35 per night I would definitely stay again .dont expect a new building but if you want exceptional clean and value this is it

Meh hotel, however absolutly foul, Incredably nasty worker called Wendy. Very rude and clearly not capable of speaking to people. Absolutly no help whatsoever and if you call the hotel number they will hang up on you. Would NEVER stay again or recommend.

The hotel is dated but very well presented, the room was comfortable and had no problems at all. Would stay there again. The room was provided with towels and clean bedding and tea coffee etc, can’t fault our stay at all, Thankyou very much for a nice stay!

Bed was SO comfy. Room lovely & warm. Tv impossible to watch from bed, odd angle. En-suite spotless. Check in/out easy. Windows will not fully open. Staff smoking below room, causing smell of smoke in room. (Too warm to close windows) Staff polite & friendly.

Extremely terrible hotel but would be perfect for halloween apart from the mess was real not staged. The hotel was cheapish £50 for the night however was not worth the money and I will not be recommending or returning. Upon arriving we entered and went to our room, it was very basic, however they had a fridge etc, I started unpacking and noticed a hair on the dressing table, didnt think much of it but went into the bathroom where the mirror was not clean, more hair in the corner of the room, and a super tiny shower cubicle... however after this I decided to lay on the bed, I noticed more hair everywhere, the carpet had also not been hoovered. (This is a pet friendly hotel however rooms are not cleaned afterwards) the bed was completely covered in hair!!!! I called the owner and asked for the bed to be changed... she replied and said yes, we went out and arrived back at the hotel quite late, the bed looked like it had been changed but it had not, I got a hair in my mouth, there was a stain on the top cover, I felt disgusting and felt like I could get fleas from staying there. We were due to stay another night also had booked the same hotel separately for the nights as werent actually going to stay the first night, we were in a different room with communal bathrooms however were told we could stay in the same room for an additional cost which we were but not after the unclean hotel. We ended up packing our stuff and leaving the hotel without staying, which I have never had to do this with a hotel before, luckily we managed to find another hotel, the money we paid was refunded to us without any queries but had to let people know my experience from staying at the hotel and I would not recommend due to the unclean rooms.

Friendly and helpful staff, however the room smelt severely of sewage every 20 minutes from the sink, had to block the sink with the towels provided however in the morning woke up and they were soaking and stank too… doors and rooms were falling apart, it’s meant to be Victorian however I’m unsure if it’s meant to be almost crumbling. Walls very thin so could hear the next rooms conversations, good location, just the smell was awful. Friends stayed in the room above and it smelt severely of cigarette smoke. The staff were lovely, and they were very helpful, can’t complain too much as we didn’t pay much! Very cheap but you get what you pay for, no options for breakfast and shared bathrooms if you don’t pay extra, the showering facilities were fine, just felt like we all stank when we left. Also bit of a strange one… TV randomly turned on at 6am…😆
