Staybridge Suites Grand Rapids SW - Grandville

The hotel was very clean and up-to-date. Service was great. The people were nice and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, the food area was clean and well-maintained.

The staff at this hotel is absolutely wonderful go over and above to try and assist to multiple issues you will encounter when staying at this hotel. Which is amazing because their GM, Mowafak Gabal, “MG” is a rude, volatile, condescending, child-traumatizing individual who should never work with other humans. I was a frequent guest at this hotel when it first opened, every 6-8 weeks for typically a weeks stay. In addition my role, brought a lot of business to this particular location. The issues you will encounter at this location are many; however, if the issue is escalated to the GM, you are in for an unpleasant encounter at best and be sure to have a witness. Not only will it not get resolved in your favor, you will quickly find out Mr, Gabal has no inclination toward any sort of customer satisfaction and nor will he treat you with any respect as a human being. My final incident came in front of my 5-year-old granddaughter when she said never wanted to visit me at that hotel again because she was afraid that man was going to hurt her or me and didn’t want me to stay there anymore when I came to town for work. No more truth telling than that. Truly, we all deserve better than the MGs of the world. Go elsewhere.

On March 1st, 2024 we booked a trip through our Captial One Venture card for a weekend stay from April 5th-7th, 2024. We received confirmation of our reservation as well as our payment in full totaling $394.79. We checked in, enjoyed our trip and went home. It wasn't until a couple days later that I noticed they had charged me another $525.48 for the same room. I pulled my confirmation/receipt and called the hotel. The front desk was apologetic and immediately saw a problem but said the general manager would have to fix it and he wasn't available until the next day. I called in the next day and spoke with the general manager who was rude, condescending and not willing to help at all. He did not care that the card was charged twice, said it was my credit card's fault and refused to give me his name (only his initials of MG). It didn't take long to find his name online (Mowafak Gabal) as others have had issues with the hotel recently as well. After calling and speaking with Capital One, they were able to quickly find the same issue and were flabbergasted. The hotel had attempted to charge the wrong card when I made the reservation and therefore didn't see it on their end as a double charge (This was something 4 Travel Agents and the Supervisor had never seen). Capital One called over and over to the hotel and over a 2-week period would have the general manager leave the hotel in the middle of the conversation, refuse to come to the phone, refuse to provide a time when he would be available and refuse to do anything to help with the situation. Capital One became as frustrated as I was and ultimately credited me for the hotel's mistake. It is upsetting as my family travels frequently throughout the year all over the country. This one experience at Staybridge was bad enough that we will no longer look at Staybridge as a first option. You have a serious problem with the General Manager at the location and I hope Staybridge does what's necessary to address this.

Our stay was better than we could have imagined. We had water damage to our house and our insurance booked us into stay bridge. We ended up staying 5 weeks. The King suite with a kitchen met our needs beautifully and the staff was very helpful. The food service staff are amazing and friendly with a fully stocked hot breakfast buffet every morning with many choices. The courtyard outside with fire pits and furniture were a welcome setting after a stressful day at work. The availability to grill our own food was also very nice. Our room was cleaned every week and we had clean towels whenever we needed them. I would recommend for anyone!

Our first time staying at staybridge and it was truly wonderful. The staff were all very nice and friendly. The room was perfectly appointed for our family. The breakfast was really good. We stayed three nights and they had a variety of items available. The pool was very nice. They also offered free laundry room which was so helpful. We enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pit to converse with other guests at night. As well as grilling burgers and chicken. The property is simply beautiful. I am putting staybridge on my list of brands to stay at. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
