Mathraki Resort

We stayed at Mathraki Resort as a family with two children (ages 10 and 13), and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We have truly never been welcomed so warmly and openly before! It felt more like visiting friends than checking into a hotel – and that heartfelt, family-run atmosphere stayed with us the entire time. The resort is beautifully designed – everything feels fresh, new, and modern, yet it still retains a traditional and cozy charm. You can see how much love and care has gone into every corner. The pool was an absolute highlight for our kids, and we parents also enjoyed the calm, relaxing surroundings. We didn’t have breakfast every day, but when we did, it was a real treat. We especially loved the Mathraki omelet and the creamy Greek yogurt with honey – simply delicious! We were only there for a few days and spent a lot of time exploring the island. Looking back, we wish we had spent more time just relaxing at the resort – it was that lovely. One thing is for sure: we will definitely be coming back, and next time we’ll stay longer! First impressions at entrance was really good, gorgeous exterior, well lit up. Met on arrival by Nikos. Really friendly and showed us to our apartment. We were able to check in before arrival so this also saved time. We booked a 2 bed apartment overlooking the garden. Apartments were clean and tidy and maintained daily. Lots of wardrobe space, nice big fridge and freezer and large balcony area. Small kitchen, only downside to apt was no lounge area but large balcony balanced this. Pool area was immaculately clean and always had loungers available. We had breakfast lunch and dinner on different occasions in the tavern and the food was always delicious and fresh. Really good variety on the menu to suit all. Also had a great range of drinks. For a family run business, there was always someone available if you had any questions queries, I found them all to be always polite and helpful even during busy times. The complex is about 5 minute walk to gouvia centre where there are lots of restaurants, bars and the beach. The bus stop is only a 2 minute walk and brings you directly into Corfu Town and also can bring you to ther towns and beaches along the route. Good Central location. Overall would highly recommend.

Mathraki is a lovely little resort which provides a real personal touch due to its fairly small size and the fact it's exclusively family run. We stayed with our 5 month old baby as we were over for a wedding and at no point did we feel like a pain or inconvenience to anyone. The pool area is great and has plenty of (very comfy sunbeds for guests. The reviews speak for themselves - highly recommend.
