This is a new 4 star hotel which I would expect to have some 'teething problems ' whilst they become established however it is definitely not a 4 star hotel in my view. I would rate it between a 2 or 3 out of 5. Factual review. We stayed for 6 nights/ 7 days. What works well. New hotel therefore looks nice. Swimming pool is lovely. Very comfortable sun loungers. Bar staff and waiter/ waitresses work hard and are friendly and welcoming. Sandy beach 1 minute walk. Downside: Housekeeping is dreadful. When we enquired as to why our room was still not attended to by 5.30pm, we were told to just relax and enjoy our holiday. When we enquired again on another day, the manager suggested, as a solution, he could refund our money and we could find another hotel. This was not a solution as it would have meant me researching for another hotel, packing, organising and paying more money on transport. In my opinion, this is not good practise and definitely not a solution. Our room was only attended to once by 3.30pm, it was between 5 and 6.30pm on all the other days. Bed sheets were not changed throughout stay. Shower glass was never cleaned. Shelf/ sink never cleaned. Floors only mopped on 2/3 occasions. Breakfast. The set up causes a lot of chaos as there is only one small toaster for all guests. It is situated beside the teas/ coffees/ drinks. This causes queues and also by the time you get your toast/ drink, your food is cold. Most guests seem to sit outside for breakfast however it's only the inside tables that are set up with cutlery therefore guests have to find/ fetch their own cutlery. We had hard boiled eggs 4 days out of six. There was never a selection of locally produced cheeses as stated on website. It was the same cheese slices and ham slices throughout the stay. I requested gluten free bread on day 1, it arrived in time for breakfast on day 4. Definitely need more staff as tables at breakfast time are not cleared quickly enough and food is not replenished in a timely manner. This is not a reflection on the staff who work there but a reflection of not having a well organised layout/ ordering system or enough staff. We did also eat lunch/ dinner here occasionally. The food was presented well and tasted good however on our final day, they had run out of bread/ pitta bread. Roomsand balconies are small however this is a personal choice so not necessarily a problem. We had been upgraded however we were not aware of this until we raised concerns about housekeeping. We were then told that we had been upgraded.
