Hillview Motel

I stayed at Hillview Motel with my two kids and really appreciated how homey and comfortable it felt. Nothing fancy, but everything was clean, simple, and perfect for a good rest. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we all felt at ease. A lovely, relaxed place to stay — we’d happily come back.

Dirty cramped and unpleasant. Difficult to understand how this place is still trading. Health inspector needs to pay a visit. Must be lack of competition in Goulburn. Poor quality linen and cramped space with bed shoved against a wall. Difficult vehicular access with steep drive over gutter.

Our stay was ok. It was a stop for one night on our way to QLD and it was budget, so got what expected. It was a tight squeeze for a family of five, but I was thankful that we all got in one room & I didn’t have to pay for two rooms. The double bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows but not enough blankets. If I had of realised this, I think the friendly host would have given extra. There also wasn’t a sheet on one of the beds but we made do. Rooms could do with a refurbishment. Definitely budget but wasn’t too bad.

Very, very basic. The old adage - you get what you pay for. Bedside lamp didn't work. Heater did not work also. Towels were very old and worn out. Very small room. Bed against the wall so you could only get out one side.

was hoping the reviews were just bad but nope this place was bad. My room had a horrible smell all through it (possibly someone cooking curry or something in the room previously). Blinds that couldn’t make the room dark enough, bed that was hard, not enough cutlery, only half a roll of toilet paper left in room. Very small kitchen, that was poorly stocked. Definitely not even worth the money they charge. Bathroom was what you expect of a highway motel.

At this price we knew we were getting a bed for the night in an old, basic motel. It met our need for a cheap place to stay the night. We had no experience like the reviewer who said their room stank or that of another who said it warranted the description as a "slum." If you want better you go and pay more somewhere else. There was an issue in that we booked a double bed room and got 2 single beds, but management compensated with a reduction in price. We all make mistakes and they compensated. If you want luxury go somewhere else. If you just want a bed on your travels and can cope with basic this is OK. Air conditioning was good.
