This is just a fabulous place, met the owners, the chef and staff, all lovely. The location is great, the premises are fitted out with great quality and taste. The breakfast had something for everyone and being freshly cooked to order, they were very tasty. We used this as a base for local walks and just had a brilliant time. No doubt that we will return.

Our family visited the area to take part in a race, so we were in and out at unsociable hours. Everything was catered for including early breakfast and we found the experience and hospitality totally relaxing and a home from home. I would absolutely stay here again when next in the area.

We stayed at 1692 during a weekend trip climbing Scafell Pike. When we arrived the location was stunning, and so quiet! We were shown to our rooms by the lovely Faith who was very friendly, knowledgable and warm. Our room was stunning and had the comfiest bed we’ve ever stayed in- perfect for post Scafell napping! Every aspect of our stay was perfect, from the small features of our room that made the stay special to the friendly staff and gorgeous food. We’ll definitely be coming back to stay again.

Homemade cake on arrival. Faith was a very welcoming and, informative host. We stayed in the fells room. Spacious and light. We only had one night but wow what a sound sleep. The mattress and pillows 11 out of 10! The breakfast menu gave us a full description as to where ingredients were sourced and the small jars of brown HP and tomato sauces were very welcomed. No sachet sauces here. Faith also asked if we would like fresh milk for the tea and coffee in the room. The milk was provided in an insulated jug to keep it cool but UHT milk was provided as well

Everything here is just perfect. Beautiful room, friendly staff, freshly cooked breakfast. Not to forget the adorable alpacas. We stayed for two nights. Unfortunately we had already booked for the next night or we would’ve prolonged. Will we come back: Absolutely.

I have had the pleasure of staying at the 1692 Wasdale on business over the last five years. Due to a change of job my final stay was in September 2024. All the rooms are of excellent quality and breakfasts are exceptional. Faith and her team are all excellent. Although I never had much time for sightseeing the location is stunning, with both Wast Water and Gosforth being close by. There are also some very nice walks from the hotel on a Summer evening. I would like to spend some time at the hotel in the future with my wife. A five star experience from me.

Just returned home from an amazing stay at 1692. We stayed in the fells and honestly could not fault it . Everything was perfect. Fern was really helpful with advising us of places to go etc. Breakfast was amazing with a very wide choice, continental or hot option or both. Would definitely recommend booking the hot tub! Would definitely stay again !! It was fantastic watching the sheep walk past our bi-fold doors !

Loved our recent stay at 1692 Wasdale. Stunning scenery. Fabulous breakfasts. Gorgeous and comfortable rooms. Enjoyed the hot tub positioned to make the most of the views. Helpful and friendly people. Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.
