Motel 6 Goodland, KS

Hotel is sketchy.. room smelled of cat piss and pet hair was all over the floor. Flies everywhere. Bathroom had mold atoms the shower. Turned around and went next door to the super 8. Asked for refund and still waiting for that. Would not recommend staying here.

We had a reservation but they overbooked because of a snow storm so they didn’t have a room for us. We waited an hour and a half in the lobby to check in for them to tell us that there were no rooms. No apology. No refund. When they ran us out of the lobby and locked the door behind us, they were still accepting reservations online for $75/night despite having no actual rooms available. It doesn’t seem like they know how to operate a hotel.

This was the last hotel in town to still have rooms when I-70 shut down due to a blizzard. It was 4:00 pm when we walked into lobby. There were 4 people in front of me. It took an hour to get a room. The clerk couldn’t figure out what rooms were clean, even though the housekeeper was telling him, writing them down and repeating herself. The clerk was clueless. After 10 minutes I was worried that online booking may be a good choice, even though they assured us they had rooms. I finally got a room after waiting in line for an hour. They had no idea on how many rooms they had available. When I walked out of lobby, there were 30 people in line. The room was better than sleeping in car. Not much better, but for $55 what do you expect. It had clean sheets and a tv that worked. I pray I never have to experience this place again.

We have stayed at many Motel 6's due to their no pet fee policy that were fine. We just needed a place to sleep on our way back from CO. The front desk person was friendly. The exterior was pretty sketchy, but we thought how bad could it be? The room wasn't very clean other than the sheets which is mostly what we cared about. The floors were visibly dirty and the shower floor was cracked. I killed a big spider coming from under the night stand. I would not stay here again.

Helpful staff at a convenient location. Met our needs, which were admittedly minimal. Ice machine was broken. AC worked, it was needed to drown out the road noise from the highway. Nothing fancy, just a decent bed and shower stop.

I used to stay at Motel 6's regularly MANY years ago when they were a new chain. I try to avoid them now because something has gone very wrong, It's as if they haven't been updated since they were first built!!! But we were in a tiny western Kansas town and needed a cheap easy-access room for the night so we stopped. The night staff was very personable. The room-----two beds that were bowed in and I could feel the springs were miserable. The bathroom--the shower head was not more than a gentle sprinkler and the water took a LONG time to get hot. The shower stall needed replacing. The towels were so pitiful (VERY rough and small) that I would've had them as garage rags. The towels were stored in a wood wall rack instead of the usual wire rack. It was filthy in each slot. Good idea to remove carpeting and have Pergo floors, but they didn't look clean. I don't understand why Motel 6 regional directors don't insist on updates and better quality. This is a chain!!
