"Disappointing first impression and very poor service by some of the employees. What put me off was to be told to wait for over hour just for checking into the room. The staff in charge was more interested in showing off his superiority rather than serve his customers. If it only happened to me, I would have understood it as a one off. However, I heard several; other customers complaining of the same ill treatment. Then the service is the restaurants, was equally poor. Very unenthusiastic waiters. Maybe it's the customer service culture. The hotel is an old jewel but could do with some faceup. Internet is intermittent.   "

"The hotel staff were helpful, and my room was spacious and clean. Lots of hot water! The restaurant on the top floor provides a nice view of the Gulf of Guinea (except for 1 big building in the way). I've seen better breakfast buffets, but there is as much coffee as you want. Lunches and dinners were fine - pizzas were okay, the lasagna and penne arrabiata were better. The hotel if close to the beach, next to the Grand Marche, and close to the Government areas of Lome."

And just as we've enjoyed the facilities in the past, our overnight experience was just as wonderful. Excellent service, good food and drink, great location directly on the beach, could not ask for more. Highly recommend."

"Really enjoyed our stay at Marcelo. The property was next to the water, but not sure if there are any ocean view rooms due to the layout. The space we had was on 2 floors with 2 bathrooms, a kitchenette and balcony. Very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable, large bathroom on the 2nd floor, comfortable a/c and sitting area. We also appreciated all of the outlets to plug in devices. The only thing missing was an in room safe. Property was well maintained with a large pool and areas to sit by the water. The restaurant served a buffet breakfast where you could also order an omelet. Really enjoyed the live music they had on a few nights of our stay. What we also appreciated was the amazing staff from Leonce, Amy-Fa and Api-Fanny (restaurant manager). Very kind and always willing to help. Would recommend and would return."
