Mallyan Spout Hotel

Lovely place with brilliant atmosphere and lovely food. Staff very welcoming and helpful, prices reasonable for the quality of food. Only a brief visit this time but we will be back for a stay this summer. Looking forward to exploring the area and seeing what else is around.

Booked an overnight stay to celebrate my husbands birthday. No acknowledgement was nade of this fact, which was a bit disappointing. For lunch we had the Sunday roast, which was nice but not very hot. Our standard bedroom was small but cute. The bathroom has a small bath and a tiny shower, which my husband struggled to fit into. The bed was very comfortable. For supper we had sandwiches which were tasty. I asked a member of staff if they could light the fire in the room we were in, as we were cold, which they did eventually. We had finished eating by then, so sat in front of the fire on a very uncomfortable sofa. The fire was lovely but the uncomfortable sofa won in the end and we retired to our bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom were cold when we woke up the next day, as the heating wasn't working. Reported it to reception when we went down for breakfast. The dining room was busy, so we sat at the last free table. Breafast was lovely, with a good choice of cooked options. Mallyan falls is behind the hotel, so we went for a walk there and down to Goathland station, to watch a steam train arrive and depart.

A first class hotel in every respect. We recently stayed for 3 nights with a group of friends. The staff were so friendly and were all really helpful, even telling us which buses to catch. The breakfast and evening meals we all had were delicious. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with walks and really peaceful. Just perfect, we will be back

Just returned from 3 nights at the hotel. We ate in 2 nights. It’s our second time here, but some of our friends are much more regular visit. Staff across the board are outstanding and really give the feeling they are happy to be there. All very “real” people and do their 100% best to provide customers what they want. Good selection of ales and lagers, fire in the entrance lobby is going all day and it’s a great place to perch and have a coffee, beer or afternoon tea etc. Rooms very clean and well equipped. WiFi works throughout the property but need daily re-validation (which is the only very minor suggestion for improvement). Great stay - thanks again to all the staff…!

Another excellent stay for Valentines , Great nights sleep , comfy beds , drinks around the Cosy real fire before eating some well cooked food. Recommend the Shepherds Pie and Scallops starter with sticky Toffee Puds to finish ,very nice. Warm and welcoming as always. Love the "relax mode" vibes

we stayed here for one night db&b winter deal, we booked a standard double room which did not disappoint. the room was adequate for one night, the room had recently been updated with comfy bedding and pillows, the towels were so soft, the bath was quite high there was no hand rail so a bit awkward to get out of the bath. Our meal was delicious and freshly cooked served in the dining room which has had a makeover and tastefully done. After our meal we sat in the snug area in front of the log burner having a drink. Our breakfast was as good and plenty of choice, we found all the staff to be friendly and welcoming. We would stay again. Our last stay here was about 20 years ago!
