Go2 Gloucester Quedgeley Hotel

I won't write a massive essay - I'll just say this: Tiny room, small creaky bed every time you moved, rubbish shower, bright lights shining in through the curtains, dirty, holes in walls, ceiling paint peeling in a MASSIVE way in bathroom, I could go on...

I came on here before booking, and saw a number of people say it was alright for a one-night stop over, which is essentially what we were looking for. If you just want to sleep then fine, its fine for that. However, if you want to do anything else, such as take a shower etc them stay away! To start, they would not even let us have our keys or enter the room until we had paid, and after 10 minutes of telling them that I was happy to go elsewhere if they did not want the business, they agreed to let me settle up at checkout. When we got to the room I wanted to take a shower after a long, hot drive; however to my disgust I found that all of the towels were filthy, some stained with what I can only imagine to be fake tan. The room in general was far from clean, and the corridors were imaginatively decorated with holes in doors where someone had tried to kick it in. Worse place I have ever stayed. p.s. oh, and the wifi password does not work...

Check in was good, condition inside hotel was tired and needs some renovations. The room was a weird red colour, with peeling paint in the bathroom. Kettle had to be put on bedside cabinet to use a socket and could not get it under the sink tap to fill it. Room size small but acceptable for a nights stay and the short time I was asleep the bed was worn but comfortable, however as a female travelling alone I did not feel safe. The location is on the outskirts of town, which I thought would be quiet. After a number of noisy outburst throughout the night I did get up at 5am t check the security of my car ( which actually ended up covered in bird poo!) the noise turned out to be residents who were coming back from a night out but were allowed to come into the building making as much noise as they could. Shower had been disappointing, not very hot and poor pressure but having a wash was even more interesting as there was not a sink plug. I asked about this at reception and the woman, after working out what I was on about, just shrugged and said none of the rooms had plugs in the sink! The towels however were huge and soft! Which presumably makes up for the lack of bathroom facilities! Oh and although I didn't need it, the lift was out of action and the handrail on the stairs was not particularly secure. I wouldn't return and stay here again but the chips from the chip shop next door were really good!!
