Vagabond Inn Glendale

My son and I loved this place, we had a queen bed each, brilliant wifi, netflix, full size fridge,hairdryer,iron and ironing board,coffee machine, so much space and even a dining table and chairs..not to mention the use of a pool! The beds are so comfy, 2 different types of pillow. Bath and shower both fab,lots of hot water. The area was really quiet and most importantly for us we felt really safe, walking around the local area each evening was a pleasure we looked forward to, lovely vibe and family feel about the place. Plenty of shops and great places to eat. Literally can't fault it, we'd definitely stay here again.

I have stayed here for several weeks and have been extremely happy with all the accommodations. Front desk people are so professional, kind and so accommodating. I needed help to get my luggage out and Maria from the front office rushed to help me which was extremely appreciated. This is the only place I’ll come back to in my next trip.

I emailed the motel to address our concerns but haven’t heard anything. We didn’t have a chance to address the issues while we were there. We vacation in Southern California 2-3 times a year. First time staying at vagabond Glendale. The pros are the location- 20 minutes drive from Universal Studios, across the street from 2 malls, restaurants and shops in a safe neighborhood. Having tea in the lobby was a nice touch. The cons: Roof noise- We were woken up at 6:40a to construction worker on the rooftop. Not exactly how we wanted to wake up on vacation. We weren’t told construction was going on and had specifically requested a quiet room. The website advertised wifi and large TV with HBO. The room has neither. Website still advertises this. This is a huge inconvenience with teens. As the hotel hands you a piece of paper informing you that there’s no wifi or tv, it must have been unavailable for awhile. Parking policy is $10/day yet there is plenty of space- never full and no valet so not sure what we’re paying for. Also, only a microwave in the lobby. Most motels do provide microwaves. The problem was not so much the motel itself but they advertise something different so the customer have different expectations of what they are getting. There are many options in the area so not sure we would choose this one again.

Needed a place to stay coming from Bay area for a concert in Pasadena. Rate is good, hardwood floors, very comfortable bed. Useful to have late night noodles or sandwiches available. WIFI and TV not working, but not an issue for us, waived $10 parking.

Best value in Glendale, CA. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location. The rooms are quiet, clean and tastefully decorated. Comfortable bed and nice sheets. Parking is in front of your door. It is located at a one-minute walk to the AMERICANA shopping center. Next door is Foxy's restaurant for an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner. Everything is within a one-minute walk.

I stayed here for a single night to be close to the Burbank airport. This hotel had a great rating, so I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try something different. There are both pros, and cons to doing that. This hotel is cramped between a condo complex and a Hampton Inn. It looks like it may have been an old Motel 6 or so in the past. At 3pm, I was able to check-in. Very smooth. Agent used an Ipad to complete check in and give you hotel information. Parking was $10 per night, and it was added onto your bill. There was a fridge with a small number of items available for purchase, as well as a microwave in the very small Lobby. The room was cleaner and more updated than I was expecting based on others photos. The room was pretty small, but there was a giant TV with a hard-wood dresser. The Queen bed was EXTREMELY soft, and was on a standard frame and box spring. There was a small desk and chair. The room also had a microwave, fridge and Keurig coffee maker included. The bathroom was VERY large and modern. There was a tile walk-in shower with a wand and rain style shower. Plenty of space for 2 people at the same time. There was also a small pool on site. It sits under a tree, so it was kind of dirty in the evening. I did not use, but may have it I was here for longer than 1 night. So thats the review. Now I'll tell you why I shouldn't have gone out of my comfort zone. The walls and ceiling are paper thin. You can hear everyone talking, and moving the chairs or luggage. The room above must have had kids, because they were jumping on the bed, rolling luggage and moving all night long. From 1am to 4 am was nothing but a boat load of noise. I put my ear plugs in after it started, and just didn't care anymore. I am sure the hotel would have responded in the positive to my noise complaint, I just didn't want any retaliation. To be clear, this is not the hotels fault. This was me choosing not to file a noise complaint.

Super recomiendo hospedarse en este lugar. La atención en recepción fue excelente y siempre encontrabas a alguien para apoyarte. La habitación tiene todo lo que necesitas… cama muy cómoda, refrigerador y todo impecable. La ubicación es perfecta, a tan solo 15 minutos de Universal. En frente hay dos centros comerciales y un Target. La zona es bastante segura. Sin dudarlo, volvería a hospedarme aquí.

I generally don't like to write a negative review, but our experience at this hotel takes the cake. On an extremely stormy and rainy evening, we got to this hotel late (7:30pm). Normal check-in time was at 3:00pm. Upon arrival in pouring rain, the lobby door was locked and stated to come back at 7:55pm Planning to sit in a dark and scungy parking lot, in pouring rain was not an option. Hence, we went across the street to a safer location, to a mall that was about to close at 8:00pm. Prior to going back and try to check in, we called the hotel at 8:00pm. No answer, Called at 8:10pm. No answer. We called every 10 mins, up until 9:00pm, and no answer. We called the 800 number for the hotel and asked them what's going on. Customer service for Vagabond stated that they don't know anymore than we did. They would not even give us a remedy or alternative, given the situation we were placed in. Worst customer service EVER! Without a place to stay, we subsequently went back to the hotel and check. Fortunately, we noted that there was someone in the office, and the door was unlocked. We questioned the attendant, only to receive excuses. And then he told us that the storm messed up their phone. No apologies, nothing. We subsequently checked into our room. Unfortunately, it was not the most pleasant or comfortable room. I guess we should be glad we didn't have to camp out in the car. The Vagabond Hotel policy of charging $30 extra for early check-in, and $50 extra for late check-out, certainly raises a red flag of what we felt is a shady hotel. Plus you will have to pay $10 for parking in their outside parking lot with no security? What a joke! Want ice? No ice machines on each floor. You will have to call the front office and bring your bucket to the front desk for them to fill your bucket. Then travel to your third floor room. Ugg, Early in the morning, we noticed loud talking outside our room, then a plume of cigarette smoked began to creep under our door. So disruptive and disgusting in a no-smoking establishment? Apparently their patrons have no respect for others in adjoining rooms. We couldn't wait to get out of this establishment. If you would like to stay at this place, please do so at your own risk.

Was pleasantly surprised how updated and clean the room was. Keurig coffee maker was a nice amenity! Hotel was directly across the street from the Americana, Mall, and walking distance to many shopping and dining spots in Glendale. Parking lot was quiet and spots were always readily available (although they charged $10 per day for parking). Pool was small but looked clean, I did not use during my stay. Had no issues here during my 5 night stay and will definitely stay here again when visiting the area. Front desk staff were always pleasant and accommodating. Very nice value for the area!
