Coffee Atelier

Charming hotel in a great location. We enjoyed our 3 night stay in a ground floor room. Unique rooms with outdoor shower and toilet. Plenty of room inside and outside with ceiling fans and air conditioning. Breakfast was basic but very nice. Very close to Love Lane and walking distance to many of the old town attractions.

When I arrived in front of the Coffee Atelier, I could not believe how beautiful it is ! It is really a unique and special place. When I saw the room, it was amazing ! I spent 4 nights there and would have stayed more with pleasure. Its location is the best, near Love Lane with all the restaurants and cafes, near The Blue Mansion, and all the attractions to visit, and yet, in a very calm street. My room on the ground floor was spacious , beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Perfect in all its details. It was always very clean too. Ruby and Judy take good care of everything, and took good care of me too, helped me in everything I needed, were always so kind and attentive, gave me good recommendations of restaurants, and places to visit, and I felt at home.

Top lokatie! Super sfeervol ingericht. De beneden appartementen hebben (privé) douche en toilet buiten, erg leuk! Wordt gerund door 2 lieve zussen die alles voor je doen en regelen! Prima ontbijtje wordt in het restaurant ernaast geserveerd. Echt een van de leukste accommodaties van onze reis door Maleisië!

Een prachtige accommodatie in het centrum van George Town. Een unieke plek voor een fijn verblijf. Mede door het goede ontbijt, vriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid zou ik dit plekje zeker aanraden. Verwacht geen luxe badkamer, want de douche en het toilet betreed je via je eigen binnenplaats😍

We loved staying here. After moving hotels we booked in at short notice. It was a relief to get such a warm welcome. The rooms are charming with traditional furniture. A beautiful heritage building that made us feel like we were guests in someone’s home. Great location, with loads of restaurants, shops and coffee bars nearby. We were sad to leave. Ruby was so lovely and looked after us really well. Big hugs when we left. Thank you to Ruby and Judy for their personal touch.

We had a downstairs room which was like a small home! Plenty of room for bags, to unpack, small wardrobe and safe and a desk. Bedroom was comfy, had a good aircon and fan. Outside we had a small table to sit and enjoy our morning coffee. We were amongst lots of lovely plants and loads of sunlight. The shower and toilet were outside too. We had flipflops supplied, towelling everyday, free water. There was a small fridge. Coffee beans and tea were supplied every day too with a coffee plunger. Very nice coffee bean. Breakfast much to our delight was included. We walked a few steps to Christoph's where we had a good selection to choose from. Hot and cold options, cereal, fruit, toast and eggs sausage and bacon. Ruby and her sister were so lovely, so approachable and helpful. We asked re laundry services and Ruby organised it all for us. She is a very friendly, kind and helpful woman and Coffee Atelier are so lucky to have her at the front of their business. Any travel questions, location queries, food recommendations Ruby knew. She directed us to the most amazing Indian restaurant where we ate often. She always greeted us when she saw us, home away from home. We had monsoon rain one morning and it was lovely sitting outside in our small garden area listening to the rain. We also had a tv. The room was spacious, well air conditioned and generous with its provisions. Coffee Atelier is well located. Many attractions in Penang can we walked to from this spot. We would recommend the downstairs rooms as we think they are more spacious. Very nice to sit outside on the street side and watch the world go by, though it was pretty quiet when we visited. Lots of nice plants and a home away from home feeling. Very comfortable and we would definitely recommend Coffee Atelier.
