Gourmet & Wine Hotel Austria - 4 Sterne Superior

We took a family ski trip here with Inghams. The hotel is well located, attractive and the accommodation is excellent. Staff were really helpful, friendly and were wonderful with our young children. The food, particularly the 3 course evening meal, was truly superb! Given the opportunity, we would certainly book here again.

I don't often leave reviews but we have stayed here for the second time in 'Hotel Austria' in as many months We had an amazing stay over New year (24/25) and have just returned after another week starting the 8th of February. We got engaged on New Years Eve and everyone made it extra special for us - Thank you to all xxx Family Steiner and their staff are all amazing and extremely welcoming. Mother and Farther Steiner always say hello and chat at the end of the day when we are talking about the days events. Anna never stops she is always on the go and still manages to say hello and always able to help. Max knows everything you can imagine about wine. The wine tasting evening is always amazing and we learn something different every time - they are never the same. Peter the head waiter will always put a smile on your face and has a brilliant sense of humour. Stella our waitress for the week was also amazing! The hotel and facilities are brilliant, you walk out the front of the hotel and about a minute you are on the slopes - amazing! Ski hire at Lohmann so so easy and quick, Ralf sort everything we needed and it was delivered straight to the hotel. We did not want to leave at the end of our stay! Cannot wait to go back!!!!!!!

Guardiamo indietro con piacere a un soggiorno fantastico, accompagnato da ottimo cibo e vino eccellente. Insieme a mia moglie, abbiamo trascorso alcuni giorni meravigliosi a Obergurgel. Conoscevo già la regione per motivi di lavoro, ma era la prima volta in questa struttura. La ristorazione e l’ospitalità sono davvero eccezionali. Ogni sera abbiamo gustato una cena ricca e di alta qualità, accompagnata da un’eccellente consulenza enologica da parte del sommelier. Vini eccellenti, servizio impeccabile, cucina deliziosa. La nostra camera doppia (credo fosse della categoria A3) era spaziosa, molto pulita e in ottime condizioni. Posizione perfetta direttamente sulle piste da sci. La piscina esterna riscaldata è stata ideale dopo una giornata sugli sci. I proprietari sono professionali, cordiali e mai invadenti, sempre disponibili – proprio come piace a noi. Torneremo sicuramente!

The food is fabulous. It deserves two Michelin stars. I have eaten all over the globe in fantastic restaurants and the food here is a step above. From the starters to the deserts. There is some genius at hand. The textures of the food that make up the dish along with the combination of flavours is a sensory experience. The visual impact is almost like a peace of art.

An absolutely superb, wonderful hotel. Stayed for skiing and booked through Crystal Ski (who were superb btw). Hard to know where to start and I'll run out of superlatives...I couldn't really find fault. The rooms are great, very roomy and all have TV, safe, bath robe, slippers etc etc. Plenty of storage. I had a lovely balcony too with great views. The Spa is incredible...outdoor heated pool through a sliding door, a beautiful indoor pool, Saunas, jacuzzi, great little gym with all the top equipment you need. There are even water beds to relax on. Amazing. I've been skiing for a long time and never ever had a boot room so luxurious as the one in the Austria. Spacious lockers operated by room key card with heaters, seating, toilets and....a lift!!! Fantastic!. The food in the hotel is simply superb. Exquisite. The buffet Breakfast is fabulous and Dinner is just incredible ..as is the wine list. The hotel also has a Michelin star restaurant which can be booked...but I just can't see how the food could be any better than what was served. Lovely bar area. Open fire. Snacks after skiing. Superb, friendly staff throughout. It's a five star, ten out of ten rating from me. I couldn't find fault. But note. In Austria tap water is charged in restaurants and very few, if any, hotels provide tea and coffee facilities in rooms. I knew this so took my own travel kettle. The Austria is 50 metres from a blue piste leading to a drag and gondola. It's perfectly placed as you can ski back to same spot in the afternoon. The hotel made a packed breakfast/lunch when I checked out as I was leaving early. Nice touch. Incredible, wonderful hotel.

Amazing- Family Steiner are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Max - knows everything about wine and the wine tasting is so much fun. Mother and Farther Steiner often stop to say hello and have a chat. Anna - is always running around and will also help with any requests - so friendly. All the staff are lovely the head waiter Peter May as well be called Peter the great he always puts a smile on your face. The hotel facilities and rooms are fantastic and location to the slopes is perfect. You cross a small (not busy) road by an ice rink and straight onto the slopes . We spent New year there with some friends and liked it so so much we are all going back 8th February 2025. Cosy seating around the bar for those evenings talking about the day. Spa area with indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Words do not do this hotel justice we had an amazing time with our friends. 🎿🍻🍷❤️
