Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Gardendale

We’ve stayed at the Microtel in Gardendale many times over the years, and it’s been our go-to spot whenever we’re in the area. In fact, we’ve stayed twice in the past four weeks—and the experience remains consistently excellent! The location is super convenient, and the rooms are always clean, quiet, and comfortable. We love their deluxe continental breakfast—there’s a great variety, and the selection of hot tea bags is a thoughtful touch we really appreciate. Wi-Fi is strong and reliable, which makes a big difference for us. We didn’t use the pool this time around, but it’s a nice amenity to have available. What really makes this place stand out is the amazing staff. Huge thanks to Jennifer Q for her outstanding customer service—friendly, attentive, and welcoming every time. Also want to recognize Jennifer D and Ms. Vernora for keeping the breakfast area so clean and well-stocked every morning. This hotel is a great value, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!

The pictures online do not match the room we got. It was about 100 sq ft. The room smelled sour upon entry, 80% humidity and 80 degrees inside, the sheets had someones hair in it, there was dust on the side of the fire alarm, not just the top, but also the side..... We didn't even go back to the counter, we left through the staircase and side exit. The entire place felt off from the time I got there. I have never left a hotel to get another one before. STAY AWAY. Spend $40 more to stay at the Springhill 2 minutes away.
