Rodeway Inn Galax Highway 58

I am not that fussy about my motel rooms, but this was NOT a good stay. The supposed non-smoking room smelled musty and bad when we entered. The carpet was filthy. The room had spider webs hanging from the ceiling, and there was a thick layer of dust on the top of the drapes. When I turned on the heater, huge dust bunnies flew out. We had to run the heater and leave the door open to try to air the place out. I never did see what the office staff looked like. The office was locked at check in, and even though I asked to come in from the cold, I was told no. All business was conducted through a small slot in the window at the side of the office, while the windows were covered with posters and signs. There was a coffee can on the ground outside the office to leave the room cards in. All in all, a creepy, unfriendly experience.
