Holland Arms Hotel

We stayed overnight for a party, the hotel is dirty, the sink didn't have water at the taps in the room, it had a strange odour, there was hairs in bath, it was advertised with breakfast but they don't do breakfast... not recommend.

My Husband & I stayed here mid July 24 for a 2 night stay and will NEVER return again. After travelling from Warwickshire to visit a sick relation, we arrived at approximately 7pm and were immed iately shown to our room which had a double and two single beds in. To say the room was "humble" would be an understatement, however, we accepted the fact that we were really only there to sleep. All we wanted to do was chill out and watch TV with a coffee. However, the TV did not work and after many attempts, I went downstairs to ask the barman to sort it. He hadn't a clue what he was doing, eventually stating he would go and ring the Owner. He returned to say the Owner MAY come that evening, if not, it would be addressed the next day !. Meanwhile, I decided we needed a strong coffee, only to find the kettle didn't work either. Once again, i went down and was informed he could bring a hot drink up to us, which I declined as wanted a kettle !. Eventually he barman, who clearly was not a people person, came back with a kettle from the kitchen and advised that the Owner was on his way. At some point, the Owner arrived with a small TV and soon got it up and running. He was apologetic, and to be fair, was a nice guy, and offered us a drink on the house, which we declined. The shared bathroom, consisted of both a shower, bath and WC in one room. It was absolutely rank in there, and I had to hold my breathe whilst having a wee. The decor was awful, mould and smelly , dirty, no paper towels and the bath and shower were dreadful in appearance. At one point during the evening, my Husband visited the Gents to find a couple with a young child in the bathroom. The Father of the kiddy was boiling a kettle outside the door as there was no hot water to freshen him up. Each time I visited the bathroom, I literally held my breath and was at the point of heaving on one occasion. My Husband & I decided we would rather be dirty than use either the bath or shower and even took our toothbrushes out with us rather than lean over the sink. In hindsight, I would rather have slept in a car and will NEVER return there again. It should be renamed the Hell Hole Arms !

Please please please ,listen to me ! Anybody has to do something about these cons ! Please remove this property out of market .Revine thier right to do tourism! So many bad reviews and no one doesn't do anything???? Hello; I tried to book via booking.con but before doing that I had chat with the owner ,who convinced me to book out of booking and offered me a good 30 Q discount for a night so 44 Q for an ensuite room with bug bathroom.Very nice room but freezing cold as last night was 4 degrees outside in Wales .I only paid 45 Q but still is a lot ! A glass of medium red wine is 5.95 Q .Ripp off .Anybody can do something or tell me where I can report them ???
