Holy Family Hotel

I chose the Holy Family Hotel as a base to explore Tell El Amarna, Beni Hassan and Tuna El Jebel, after looking on the internet for the most comfortable option I could find. I felt that I absolutely landed on my feet. This cliff-top hotel is clean, has amazing views over the nile, the staff are incredibly welcoming, and the food is wholesome and hearty. Our room was spacious, clean, and well maintained, and the balcony overlooked the Nile. Its also clear that the staff try to hold themselves to the highest standards of hospitality, and wish their guests to be as comfortable as possible. However, the most astonishing thing about this hotel is that it is on a Coptic pilgrimage spot, as the Holy Family is said to have stayed in a cave behind the hotel for three days during their sojourn in Egypt. The cave can still be visited and there is an ancient church with its roots going back to the 4th century immediately next to the hotel. The pilgrims themselves are a happy, friendly and enthusiastic crowd, and the hotel does get quite bustling and busy when a group decides to stay there. This all adds up to quite a unique, refreshing and uplifting atmosphere. It really felt like a home away from home and I will certainly return.

The hotel rooms, staff, service and food are simply fantastic. Our group stayed there for 2 nights and all group members raved about how friendly the staff were in addition of course to enjoying their accommodations overlooking the Nile. Simply the BEST hotel in MINYA.

We went as a big family with different age groups and we all had an amazing time! The location of this hotel is on the top of the mountain and the views are incredible! The hotel is very clean, very well maintained, nicely decorated and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The food was delicious with a good variety in an open buffet style! So many things to do around and many places to visit especially the places related to the Holy Family journey in Egypt. ( This hotel is right next to the church in which there is a cave were the holy family stayed for 3 days!) I highly recommend this place for a relaxing yet adventurous trip!!!

Amazing experience all around! Comfortable accommodations, beautiful views, attentive staff, and great coffee! Visited with a church group from North Carolina, USA. Hope to come back to visit again in the future.

Beatific panoramic of the Nile River and wonderful historic site that puts you right into the footsteps of history where Jesus and the Holy Family escaped into Egypt. Great hotel with elegantly appointed rooms and modern amenities! Great coffee and regionally specialized cuisine. A must stop on your Egypt journey!
