Tui Blue Gardens - Adults-Only - Savoy Signature

Slightly disappointed with the hotel as although it was very clean and the staff were generally friendly, the food was not always good. Very often the meats were tasteless and the vegetable selection poor. In addition the hotel is located at least 30 to 40 minutes walk away from Funchal centre and is at the top of a very steep hill. After a day of exploring we always ended up booking a taxi to return to the hotel from the town. Also there are very few bars and restaurants locally without walking up and down the steep hills. I also really object to the hotel policy of adding 10% service charge to all food and drink purchases. Whilst this is classed as optional, I did not see anyone refusing to pay this. So in addition to charging extremely high prices compared to the local establishments they also make this charge which makes a bottle of water 4.4€ and a small cappuccino (poor quality) 5.50€. Parking charges are 8€ per day. Finally 1 of the many rules displayed around the hotel stops you talking any drinks purchased at their own bars into the restaurant - this is to stop you taking drinks purchased during happy hour into the restaurant ensuring you pay full price. My own opinion is that this hotel is trying to make as much money as they can from it's clients and this is enough to ensure that we will not be visiting again.

We have just returned from the Tui Madeira Gardens Hotel Funchal Madeira. I very rarely write reviews but would like to give our honest review of this hotel. accommodation. we stayed in a Deluxe jumior sea view suite which was located in the new garden building which only holds 9 rooms over three floors. 901 to 923. i beleive this accommodation was only completed a few years ago and defintely this is one of the best hotel rooms i have stated in. clean modern, Spacious, enough electrical & usb sockets and sufficient storage. Just a minor criticism was the lights wasn't as bright especially at this time of year but the light streaming in from the full length patio doors helped. Just to note the patio doors are big and heavy so some individuals may struggle to open. Main hotel building This is very dated especially the bar and the reception area. not the best or the biggest area to relax . Dining room adequate but serving/ buffet areas close together and hap hazard. Anybody that have mobility issues may find this hotel isn't the best to navigate especially from the main building to the pool area. if you were in a wheel.chair have to go out of the main reception entrance across a cobble courtyard to a side gate to access the pool area. Food. Average at best and disappointed especially for the tui Blue brand. Lacked variety especially at breakfast. Staff pleasant but some seemed abrupt which was off putting. location Out of the main centre of Funchal and about 30-40 mins walk downhill. all uphill coming back. Busses are regular and 2 euros each which stopped just below the hotel. Small shops and bars within a 10min walk downhill. Overview overall enjoyed Madeira but for a tui blue hotel I would not recommend this one. We have stayed in Various tui blue Hotels and have not been disappointed but this falls quite below par in our opinion with the only upside was the great room we had.

Just returned from a wonderful week (our first in Madeira) at this lovely hotel.. Staff are great especially smiley Santa & Ana in the restaurant..but everyone was friendly and helpful.. Food in the restaurant is delicious & plentiful and we loved dining & looking out at the views over the poolside & beyond., Our room was a ‘Mountain view’ and it certainly lived up to that description! We watched four seasons in one day from our balcony! The room was clean, plenty of space for storage & a big comfortable bed! Would def recommend the free guided walk into Funchal(don’t miss the street with the painted doors) and the 4x 4 excursion to the North West of the island.. All in all we had the best time & didn’t want to come home!

Hotel is tired and needs more attention to detail, bath room door looks like it’s just been sanded and not varnished, bathroom mirror light doesn’t work and bathroom tap wouldn’t stay up to keep water running. For a TUI Blue the room we had was very basic and not enough storage space or hangers. We had to call reception second day in for our room to be cleaned. Paula in the Spa was superb and very professional in her treatments, the rest of the staff were friendly and chatty. Poolside was very noisy from lads staff behind the bar chatting loudly with each other.

In my opinion, this hotel is not really 16+, but rather 40+. I mention this because, as a young person, you don’t feel a lively energy—on the contrary, there’s a sense of boredom and excessive seriousness. However, if you’re older, the hotel will likely meet your expectations. The food at the hotel was okay. Not outstanding, but also not the worst. Regarding the hotel’s amenities: the indoor and outdoor pools, rooftop jacuzzi, view, billiards, and themed evenings are a big plus and definitely make the stay more enjoyable. The rooms were not perfectly cleaned—there were streaks on the shower and a lot of dust (which was noticeable and I could feel it, as I have allergies). The location is not bad—you can always call a Bolt or a taxi to the city center. However, if someone has mobility issues, getting around might be difficult. I’m giving three stars because I had an unpleasant experience with one of the staff members. I was called out for wearing leather sandals at dinner (even though other women were wearing them too), and when I asked why I couldn’t wear them, I was simply told, “Because no.” A few days later, the same staff member ran after me to the elevator with a receipt for a bottle of water I planned to pay for after grabbing my wallet from my room and getting ready to go out. I explained this, but he started arguing, saying that it wasn’t allowed. When I asked why we couldn’t pay after returning from the room, we got the same answer: “Because no.” A few minutes later, I received a call from reception, saying that the staff member had filed a complaint about an unpaid bill. I felt like a thief, all over 6 euros for a bottle of water… Other than that, the rest of the staff was amazing—everyone was kind, friendly, and eager to help.

Beautiful property with fantastic views of ocean and harbor. Excellent service. Yummy breakfast. Kind and caring staff. Highly recommend this hotel.
