Mt Fuji Hostel Michael's arvostelua

The hostel is in a very good location for anyone planning to hike Mt Fuji, with easy access to transport and nearby amenities. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and provided detailed advice that helped me plan my hike smoothly. They speak fluent English and Japanese, which made communication easy and stress‑free. The main drawback is that luggage and personal belongings cannot be stored on‑site, which can be inconvenient if you’re travelling with large bags or arrive before check‑in. If you pack light, this won’t be an issue, but it’s worth keeping in mind when making arrangements.

Great place to stay in while in Fujiyoshida. Close to fujikawaguchiko and to great to climb Fuji also.

This hostel is so clean and the place is nice

Friendly helpdesk. Only disadvantage is they dont have lift and hostel is in second floor. If you have heavy luggage might reconsider while booking.

Great stay and the hostel are near to Gekkouji Station and Mt. Fuji Station. Staff are helpful to provide information about climbing Mt. Fuji and other destinations around the city.

Great hostel! Most people staying there that I spoke to were climbing Mt Fuji via the Yoshida trail so the staff were very helpful with that, and there’s loads of information on their board about it (although little info on the other trails so if you’re doing another one like I did then make sure to research about it beforehand).

Customer service is on top of the chart. I arrived late and the owners were extremely helpful with everything. They even helped me with registration of Mt. Fuji hiking. Will definitely be back and stay at this hostel again. They are full of knowledge and experience of the area. The owner even converses with us while staying there. It is really good place to stay.

Brillant hostel for starting the Mt Fuji hike the traditional way . It's 1km from the starting point . Approximately 21km from the hostel to the official high point of 3776 m with a 3038 m elevation gain . 42km in total took me 17hrs . 10hrs30 up 6hrs down 30 mins rest . Not for the Faint-hearted or beginners . Prior experience essential ! No luggage storage at the hostel

Great location, friendly staff, nice room. We stayed in a private room and they provided towels and toothbrushes. All common areas were clean. There were shower gel and shampoo in the shared bathroom, wich is nice. There is a good restaurant across the hostel. The only thing I don't like was the smell in the room. It was strong and unpleasant. There is no window to open to get rid of the smell. It was hard to stay there long. They use air fresheners to deal with the smell but i don't like it too. I prefer no smell indoors at all.

The staff is friendly and the owner is easygoing. You can see Mount Fuji from the hostel or just walk a bit from the hostel.
