Good location on ocean front, bills itself as four star but cheaps out on stupid stuff. They charge for ice in your room. They charge 1 euro for a pool towel. Stupid stuff like that. Felt like I was at a very low end place. It's like yep we have a room but if you want towels or bedlinens we will have to charge you extra!!! NO I SHOULD BE INCLUDED!! I'm staying at the yaramer at the end of November for my birthday. I've passed the yaramar many time and had a drink in the bar. The place looks amazing. This will be our first stay and I know people who have stayed and had nothing but good things say. I don't get the negative reviews

We have stayed at the Yaramar several times now and returned for a birthday celebration. The complimentary bottle of bubbly was a lovely touch. As usual we had a really enjoyable stay. Perfect location close to beach, bars and restaurants, shops train and busses. Rooms are well equipped, spacious and comfortable with lovely views. Toiletaries are supplied and a tea tray replenished daily. There is a charge of €10 per week for use of fridge and free use of safe and air conditioning. Staff are really welcoming and friendly and were so patient with our attempts at speaking Spanish, which was greatly appreciated. The pool area is good with free use of pool towels(small charge applies if you want to change them during stay) The restaurant serves a good breakfast and evening meal…..the only downside being the speed of the coffee machines which causes a lengthy wait in peak times….I feel some separate hot water urns or additional machines would be really beneficial…. Having said that the coffee is probably the best I’ve tasted in a hotel restaurant. Evening entertainment was perfect for our taste with lots of live music to dance too, and reasonable bar prices, especially during the happy hour. There are also some daytime activities. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable and hope to return soon.

Really Nice hotel in a great location in Fuengirola situated on the front opposite the beach. Friendly staff, great breakfast with a huge choice and evening buffet was also great. Rooms quite basic but clean and comfy beds and we were on the 6th floor which was very quiet. Be warned this hotel is for the more elderly but it was great and everyone seemed so happy. Nice entertainment was also good. It is also having a restoration in January 25 so will be even better. Nice pool area as well. Only disappointment were the pool towels which were very dated and small.

We visited the same time last year and gave a poor review based on the restaurant, its inability to cope with celiac and its service mainly due to understaffing. We understood it’s an old hotel and requires some work. They asked for us to give it another chance. Ok this time we arrived early as my son collected us from airport, made very welcome by receptionist and went up to the pool bar for lunch with his children,this year there was a total difference in approach from staff, they even managed gluten free toasted sandwich with fry’s cooked in a separate fryer. ( no chance last year) warm friendly service. The hotel does need updating, which I am told will be over 2 winters from January to May. Looking forward to see what the improvements are. The main issue last year was the restaurant, plates not cleared waiting to order drinks and sometimes not turning up without asking, how different the chefs always help full showing which dishes I could eat being celiac and twice they went and made a gluten free version of the dish I could not have, offered desserts from the kitchen as not anything on show really safe. Breakfast last year was ok to be honest, with staff bringing out toast and muffins as a gluten free option. There as plenty of items that fine on the buffet, cornflakes etc. The staff seem far happier and friendly and have time to make the dining experience enjoyable. This year we took our Son and wife with2 young children who live in Fuengirola far a meal in the restaurant, they commented on the food, service and how well they had been looked after. Last year I took them to a local restaurant instead as I could not bring them due to the food and service. We will be back next year same time, after 15 years they are getting married. So I am happy I have a reasonable hotel to base our time in while we are there.

Very dated hotel. Beds and pillows uncomfortable. You can hear guests in next room and above moving around. Restaurant for breakfast more like a motorway cafe than four star hotel. No room service. Woken by maids chatting around pool every morning. Toilets blocked daily. Really disappointed in entertainment aimed only at elderly.

After a week's stay at the Yaramar, we were so impressed with the staff from Adrian in the Yarabar to the young hard working waiter in the lounge bar and the young waitress who was always smiling and so busy. They made our last night on the 24th September so special. Only sorry, we did not get their names to thank them personally.
