It's our last day today, we stayed for a week. First impression was good, nice pools with views of the ocean, loads of sunbeds, clean common areas. Our room was basic but clean and well mainatned. The holiday was relatively cheap so we didn't have high expectations, just your typical all inclusive standard, maybe a bit higher than basic average with the hotel being rated as platinum by Tui. Unfortunately we didn't even get that and. Firstly, they ask you to do online check in to speed up the checking in process, we've done that and spent well over 30minutes in queue waiting to be checked in, people who didn't check in online were being dealt with quickly while we kept waiting and there were only 2 sets of guests before us all of them complainig at how slow the process was. We arrived before 10pm had a quick dinner and ended up in our room after 11pm. Some areas are for adults only, on the first day at breakfast we haven't noticed the sign and accidentally entered this area with our toddler, we got shouted at by a rude staff member who ordered us to leave immidiately. He didn't even bother to come to speak to us just shouted NO KIDS LEAVE from distance. I'd obviously wouldn't have any issues switching tables but the rudeness and shouting shocked me, it's the 8th holiday we've been on with our 2.5 year old and something like this has never happened to me before. We did complain to the hotel and got an apology and bottle of wine and a gift for our son but I'd rather not been disrespected in the fist place. The hotel grounds are nice, and they seem to clean it regularly but there are flies everywhere! They're literally everywhere, around the tables in the bufet and snack bar by the pool, often on the food itself, sometimes it's impossible to have a meal as thr flies keep getting on your food. I've never been to La Palma but been to other 4 canary islands before and haven't seen so many flies anywhere else so not sure if it's an issue with the hotel location or what else is causing it. Now to the food which was another huge dissapointment. The first 3 days were ok, there wasn't a huge selection but what was available was fresh and taste well. Around day 4 it went downhill. You had to queue to get a table, often the queues were over 10m long this was for all meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, didn't really matter what time you came you had to queue. Once you got inside you had to queue again to get any food. Last 3 days during lunch time there was barely any food available, there were empty trays and the selection that was available was what you'd expect at a snack bar not when you went to lunch at a restaurant, deep fried ready made foods, some pizza if you got lucky to get some, chips, basic salads one type of grilled meat and fish (again if you got lucky or prepared to wait in a long queue to get some hoping it doesn't run out). The selection at snack bar was similar but even more limited. The snack bar was open until 5pm but often there was no
