Hotel Zeppelin - Das Original

It's seriously good. Our room wasn't huge but it was spotlessly clean, quiet, and with a very comfortable bed. It's a modern hotel, with cool, contemporary decor and (of course) old photos of airships! It's about 15mins walk from the train station and less than 10mins walk to the nearest bit of Lake Constance. The self-service breakfast includes croissants, yogurt and fruit, which I consider essential; and lots of other nice things, with eggs on request. The real plus point is the staff. We booked direct, and can't speak German, but all our email enquiries were answered quickly and fully. On arrival - on a German public holiday - we were greeted by two smiling, helpful receptionists who were happy to answer further questions. One of them, Candy, was particularly impressive: not only did she speak perfect English, she served our breakfast tea and coffee on Day 1 and on Day 2 remembered what we'd had!

I stayed two nights, booked last minute and not much availability in Friedrichshafen. Located close to the lake in a residential area it was quiet. The single room was a decent size, comfortable and clean. The only downside was a lack of air conditioning however a fan was provided. Breakfast was good, the parking for my motorcycle was secure and the staff were excellent.
