"Authentic and rustic on the outside, my room had been refurbished with up to date bathroom fixtures and shower, flooring, paint and furniture. Able to sleep 2 adults, 1 teen and 2 small kids. The Gruner Hof is a short walk across the Isar to Freising's old town and monastery (must see). Lots of options for public transportation; bus, train, taxi. Quaintness factors: 2nd story rooms have the sloping roof and ceiling. I'm tall. Took me a week to stop bumping into it. Across the street is a church/school with a bell tower that chimes the time from 7am to 10pm; you'll always know the time but doesn't bother at night. Good sidewalks everywhere."

"Modern concept, smart device, very simple check-in, reasonable price, but also no sneak. Unfortunately, rather narrow beds for 2 and very simple head kit - there was saved at the wrong place. Many roofs right in the bathroom are suboptimal and naturally lead to many windows on the newly white wall. :-( In sum, even with rare alternatives, a good choice but not yet excellent"

"Hotel am Klostergarten is a small hotel in Freising, Germany. First, let’s list its positive features. I booked a single room, so it was fairly small, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine - pretty standard fare for Germany. The employee who took care of both the breakfast and the reception desk was pleasant and helpful. The location is desirable, with two nice restaurants very close by. The reason I was in Freising was to visit Munich for a day and then go to Munich Airport to fly home to the US. This hotel does not offer an airport shuttle. It has no elevator, which was a problem with my luggage. I think one thing that particularly needs attention is that the reception desk closes at noon, leaving guests who arrive towards evening on the doorstep in the cold, trying to figure out how to get a room key and enter. Someone let me in and helped, but it was unclear if this was a hotel employee or just another guest. Better staffing would make for a less stressful arrival."
