We were probably one of their last guests prior to their retirement. A lovely couple who effortlessly make your stay wonderful. We went for Room 4 which had a big veranda and mountain views. Really enjoyed the breakfast each day. Convenient for many restaurants and an easy walk to the Wine Tram through the back streets. Was really sad to leave after 5 nights

Wir haben uns wieder extrem wohlgefühlt. Lucienne und Roel sind ein erstklassiges Gastgeberpaar, das uns viele Wünsche von den Augen abgelesen und uns auch mit kleinen Dingen verwöhnt hat. Die wunderschöne Anlage, die gepflegten und gut ausgestatteten Zimmer und nicht zuletzt das ausgezeichnete Frühstück erfreuen uns immer wieder. Wir werden mit Sicherheit wieder ins Plumwood Inn gehen, da zudem auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut ist. Wir haben früher auch schon in anderen sehr empfehlenswerten Unterkünften gewohnt, uns aber hier am wohlsten gefühlt. Die Anlage liegt zudem sehr zentral in Franschoek; die Haupstrasse mit ihren vielen Geschäften und Restaurants ist nur ca. 200m entfernt, aber wegen der kleinen Distanz sehr ruhig.

We have been staying here since Roel and Lucienne bought Plumwood. Their attention to detail and their hands on care for guests is outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble and yet that care is low key and never over bearing. All the rooms are immaculate and the staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfast is stunning. The situation is quiet yet only just off the main street. If you are looking for the best place to stay then Plumwood this is an ideal location.

Best breakfast in all of SA. The Plumwoo Inn is an insider tip. The breakfast is breathtaking and the quality of the food is excellent. The freshness and selection are simply stunning. In addition, the hand-brewed coffee, the fresh crepes, the cereals and egg dishes are always fresh and a la minute. Furthermore, the two pools and the loungers, everything is in top condition. This was our 7th stay at Plumwood inn and this time even for 8 days.

We have been going to South Africa for the last 25 years to escape the English winter. For the last 10 years we have stayed at Plumwood Inn for our final few days before returning back to London. It is pure magic! Ideally situated in a quiet street off the main road in Franschhoek with secure parking, you can stroll to all the restaurants of your choice in this quaint village. Very comfortable beds in the spacious rooms with en suite modern bathrooms. You also have a private shaded terrace overlooking the pretty garden with spectacular views of the mountains. Lovely breakfasts are served on the verandah overlooking the pool and you are welcomed each morning by friendly hosts Etienne and Roel who will chat about where you might want to visit and the merits of the many restaurants in the village.

We have been visiting South Africa for 26 years to escape the British winter. For the last 20 years we have spent a few days at Plumwood Inn before flying home. It is pure magic. There is secure parking, and spacious rooms with a balcony or verandah all with stunning views. Breakfast is a delight, served on a patio overlooking one of the 2 pools. Fruit, and of course a cooked English style breakfast as well as cheeses, cold meats, home made pastries and delicious pancakes. The hosts, Lucienne and Roel, make everyone so welcome and are happy to chat about local places to visit and the many wine tastings available, as well as advice on first class restaurants in the village. Franschhoek is a fabulous village to visit and a stay at Plumwood Inn is the icing on the cake.

Yet again, we had another lovely holiday staying at Plumwood Inn being well looked after by Roel and Lucienne. The friendly welcome by them and the staff was a great start to our stay. The rooms are well appointed, with very comfortable beds and a well equipped bathroom. Breakfasts are good - try the pancakes, they are delicious! You can relax here knowing you will be well looked after. Their knowledge of Franschhoek is up to date and most helpful. The situation is very convenient for the main street and Restaurants. All together its a great place to stay as our many visits there have confirmed.

What a gem! Our favorite B&B in Franschhoek for more than 20 years. A fantastic location - just a block from the main road - so very close to everything, yet quiet and peaceful. Nice large rooms, beautiful pool and garden, delicious breakfast including freshly baked pancakes. The owners are wonderful and very friendly. Parking on site. We couldn't wish for more. We will be back soon!

Ein Highlight unserer dreiwöchigen Afrika-Rundreise. Familiär geführtes Gästehaus mit sehr netten Besitzern. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gemütlich, das Badezimmer verfügt über alles, was man braucht. Wir haben auch den Wäscheservice sehr geschätzt. Wenn man gerne draußen sitzt, gibt es eine schöne Gemeinschaftsterrasse an einem der beiden Pools umgeben von üppigem Grün. Ein Getränkekühlschrank mit umfangreicher Auswahl ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. So kann ein Tag optimal beginnen. Und wer nichts unternehmen möchte, kann diesen auch gerne am Pool im Garten mit Blick auf die atemberaubenden Berge verbringen. Der Weg in den Ortskern, wo sich einige tolle Restaurants befinden, ist jederzeit zu Fuß mit einem sicheren Gefühl innerhalb weniger Minuten zu schaffen. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, sodass wir am Ende unserer Reise noch einmal für zwei Tage zurückgekehrt sind, da uns die andere Unterkunft überhaupt nicht gefallen hat. Ein Urlaub darf auch gerne mit einem Highlight enden.
