La Clé Lodge

Franschhoek was the 2nd leg of our honeymoon in South Africa and La Clé represented the perfect stay. Clifford welcomed us with homemade iced tea and that was a sign of things to come. The room was absolutely stunning and the double shower head in the bathroom was a revelation. The grounds of La Clé are picture perfect with a chipping green, a tennis court and fantastic views of the Franschhoek valley. The breakfasts were faultless and the complimentary sundowners around the heated pool every day were a lovely touch. It is a 9 minute walk from the famous Franschhoek Terminal (where you catch the wine tram/bus) and it is a great location for the restaurants in the town itself. The staff went over and above to send us on our way on our transfer day with a 'packed breakfast' box each given we were too early for the normal breakfast. Thanks to Clifford and team for making our stay so special.

A little touch of heaven! So comfortable, with the most beautiful gardens, we absolutely loved it. Very close to the town but so peaceful and relaxing. Our room was in the attic so I was concerned it might be a bit dark, but not at all! Light, spacious, with every luxury you could want! Highly recommend.

Plucked out of *********** for our final night of honeymoon. No expectations, but the pictures on the site and the booking websites do not do this place justice. Amazing lodge, but with grounds that go on for days to just stroll around the vineyards. Amazing and attentive staff, just the most amazing end to our Cape Town trip.

From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive but not overpowering. Nothing was too much trouble and the accommodation and grounds are truly amazing. The photos go no way to show the quality of this place, the grounds nor the smell or ambiance!! We were here in spring and so the gardens were just reaching their best but would be beautiful at any time of year. We stayed in a courtyard room but speaking to other guests all the other room options sounded and looked amazing too. The best shower I have ever experienced, and loads of room overall. We were so happy when we arrived and had come from a stay in a very nice hotel in Capetown, don’t miss out!!

La Cle Lodge was the perfect hideaway when we arrived for our 3-night stay in wet and wintry Franschhoek recently. It is a lovely 5-bedroom property with heaps of old world charm. Lizey, the manager who runs the resort is a warm and friendly lady who made sure (along with the very pleasant Ian) that my wife and I were well taken care of during our recent stay in Franschoek. La Cle has a great location and is within a 10-minute walk to two supermarkets and a clutch of restaurants, cafés and shops in the town centre. And when it is cold outside, La Cle is perfect for basking near the fireplace with a good book in hand. We stayed in one of the two spacious garden rooms (the double rainshower is something else!). Breakfasts are a lavish affair, and evening tea and drinks are included in the room rate.

Wonderful stay at la cle . The service and staff are outstanding and made our stay perfect . Breakfasts were prepared , fires lit and addition treats and cakes were delivered each day . The staff also cooked a bbq one night which was delicious. Definitely one of the best places I have stayed at and I would recommend this accommodation. We had a villa with 3 double rooms and at upstairs of up to 6 beds . It was simply a lovely stay
