The Hibiscus House

Lovely clean house and room with common areas with lots of things to read. Very nice breakfast - all for a reasonable price. Nice location as well. It's hard getting used to B&B's with no one to greet you. I guess that's the trend. Too early a checkout time, in my opinion.

Highly recommend the Hibiscus House We really enjoyed our stay at the Hibiscus House in Ft Myers. We got a warm welcome from Sheila the innkeeper and our "check-in" felt more like arriving at a friend's house. The location is great--you can walk downtown or to the grocery store and there are a couple of restaurants really close by. A lot of attention has been paid to the guest experience and we had everything we needed. The room was very comfortable (nice bed, decent pillows, 2 armchairs, extra towels, etc). The only downside is that the house starts to feel (and sound) active starting around 7am ET, so if you want to sleep in I'd recommend booking one of the upstairs rooms. Another note for the non-morning people: Breakfast is served from 9 to 9:15am only, so not a very leisurely window of time (especially for anyone coming from a western time zone).

We enjoyed our weekend adventure in Ft.Myers. We stayed in the Citrus Room which was very nice. Beds a bit hard, but other tan that was nice. Breakfast had a nice selection and location was great. Night life downtown was very active. Rode our bike to the Edison house. Good communication through the management property....sometimes a bit too much. Too many emails. But all in all, we'd go back and we only live 2 hrs. North.

This is a lovely, well-maintained, house in Ft. Myers. We only stayed one day/evening but would highly recommend it for folks who enjoy the B&B experiences. The house is very clean and tidy, the grounds feel very safe and ease of use was super simple. The only thing that would be nice if there was someone/anyone to greet you (a friendly face) to make the experience a little more personal. The 'self-photo' camera and photo wall makes for a nice touch - overall, we enjoyed our stay and would easily stay again.

Abbiamo prenotato due notti, nella stanza più ampia (l’unica ad avere due letti queen size ) dell’Hibiscus di Fort Myers. Arrivati in camera ci accorgiamo subito che qualcosa non va con l’aria condizionata, in stanza c’erano 92 gradi fahrenheit (quasi 34 gradi), un caldo insopportabile. Chiaramente avvisiamo lo staff che ci comunica che la colpa è nostra che abbiamo lasciato la porta aperta per ben 2 minuti. Rispondo che abbiamo tenuto la porta aperta per portare i bagagli in stanza e che era più probabile, quasi certo, che era l’aria a non funzionare e di inviare un assistente a verificare, cosa che fanno confermando poi il malfunzionamento dell’aria. Quindi ci mettono in una camera al piano terra, che ovviamente è una stanza doppia (noi siamo in tre) e aggiungono una brandina, vabbè siamo in viaggio adattiamoci. Il giorno seguente però a non funzionare è la luce della nuova stanza assegnata. Avvisiamo sempre il manager che gestisce la proprietà, quest’ultimo invia una persona a verificare e anche in questo caso constatano il mal funzionamento dell’impianto elettrico. A questo punto invio un messaggio di disappunto alla struttura, chiedendo un rimborso parziale (d’altronde ho pagato per una suite con due comodi letti e mi ritrovo in una camera doppia con la brandina) e per tutta risposta mi sento dire che è normale che capitino dei problemi e che la stanza del piano primo sarebbe già stata disponibile dopo un’ora dal nostro arrivo, BALLE!!! Quindi, per concludere vi sconsiglio vivamente questa struttura ormai vecchia e con gran bisogno di manutenzione. Mi spiace solo per la signora dello staff che con noi è stata gentile e premurosa ma chiaramente non basta.
