Fergus Club Carema Splash

As soon as you turn up at reception to check in you realise quickly that you’re not in a 4 Star Hotel. It’s very old and looking tired. The check in process is very slow. We were given a room in the garden section. The room is very dated and tired and smells of sewage. The worst bit was when we sat on the bed it only had 3 legs!! Reported to reception and received no apology and they said somebody will fix asap. 6 hours later I went back to say it had not been fixed and they then replaced it. There’s no bottled water in your room and none given out at the hotel. You have to go to the very overpriced supermarket next door to buy some. We found the food to be average, Very repetitive and bland. But we were only here for 4 nights so we tolerated it. It’s self service for drinks in the restaurant and we found some of the machines not working. We didn’t experience any issues with lack of cutlery or plates etc. On our first day there was an incident in the splash pool area where somebody had a serious accident. So it’s now shut and was shut the whole time we were there. The swimming pools are freezing cold and poorly maintained with several people cutting their feet and kids slipping all over the place as it’s very slippy due to lack of cleaning. The lifeguards insist on having no inflatables or balls in the pool which is just stupid. We could get a sunbed anytime of the day. The entertainment was very good and mostly for kids and the entertainment team do a great job. Overall we were very disappointed with the hotel, it’s very tired, dirty and poorly maintained. It badly needs a refurbishment. The sewage smell in the rooms and around the hotel are unbearable at times. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We read the reviews prior to coming and unfortunately they are all correct. We still had a good holiday once we lowered our standards and accepted it. We tried to change hotel before we came due to all the bad reviews but EasyJet Holidays refused.

Hotel was nice agree with other reviews, probably more of a 3 star than a 4. Our room was an apartment so that was quite nice having a fridge for milk. Nice view from the room a few mins walk up the hill from the main hotel building. Was still nice and probably good because it was nice and quiet at night. Staff were all very nice, Goofy child's entertainer was amazing, so good with the kids. We probably came a few days too early for the season. There isn't really anything other than the hotel in the area. The food was nice but could probably have done with more choice. Beach right near the hotel but wasn't really one you could sit and play on all day. With kids you could probably spend all day at the hotel if the weather is nice. There is a splash pool which our little boy loved and there's also a kids club.

Chambre propre mais les prestations ne relèvent pas d'un hôtel de 4 étoiles ! Restauration très moyenne avec manque de couverts, manque de beurre, machine à café du matin en panne un jour. Nourriture très peu variée. Fruits sans goût, etc. Draps déchirés dans les 2 chambres. Animation le soir que pour des enfants petits. Climatisation et chauffage en panne. Télé qui ne marche pas et est réparée au bout de 5 jours.

Food always Luke warm staff on bar limited to they can serve ask for a cocktail reply was I can't make it ask for a jug of sangria same reply. On the plus side the staff friendly also reception helpful something in room didn't work when reported fix very quickly. I agree with some of other comments place open to soon not ready.

First time in Menorca and we chose Carema Splash as it was an unbelievable deal with Jet 2 and appeared to have lots of things to keep the kids entertained The hotel has potential to be great but is lacking in many areas. To be honest I blame Jet2 more than the hotel. Pros: - Great location - Very friendly staff, especially Goofy who was amazingly helpful and friendly with everyone. - Good selection of drinks at bar included in price - Nice pool - Water park - Nice room, especially bathroom - Good cheap taxi services available but better if you book yourself!! - indoor games area during the day great idea for kids! Cons: - not enough bedding for room and none provided when requested through reception - Reception very slow and lacking answers - No ATM available or able to get cash from Reception - Nothing in walking distance from resort - supermarket next door closed - Food quality and choice poor and never hot - Dirty crockery and cutlery put out to take - Not enough options to get drinks from and not enough staff - Many kids cut themselves in pool - General maintenance on hotel lacking - Hot drinks only available at breakfast - Asked to leave whilst my daughter was finishing eating her breakfast as they wanted to close! - Often ran out of basic things like chips, coke, beer

Sadly this hotel was not ready to receive guests. On arrival I requested the sofa bed to be made up. 4 times back to reception before being handed a sheet to make myself. No blankets or covers and was very cold at night. Food - cold/ always running out / no butter for 3 days. Wine out of a machine. Shortage of cups glasses and plates. Have eaten out a number of times. The upgrade to the Italian a la carte was a farce. Given a menu to pre order (5 choices). Bolognaise arrived with no meat. Frozen tiramisu Waiter Benito was great and very apologetic. Some meals did not arrive. Location - nothing open nearby, no supermarkets or restaurants apart from a pizzeria. Difficult to get taxis. Sun loungers dirty and a lot broken. Location is pretty overlooking the sea. Feel for the staff who are working hard as no managers present to deal with all the complaints.
