Guest house carina in buona posizione ma servizi un po’ scadenti. A noi è toccata una piccola camera con 2 lettini minuscoli e la colazione era misera misera da non poter sapere se avevi fatto colazione. Personale molto disponibile camera molto pulita ma essenziale davvero. Abbiamo fatto anche la cena che era molto buona ma un menù fisso e per certe persone poteva anche risultare spiacevole. Se non mangi quelle cose non mangi.

Cheaper option in Flom. It was clean, the room is small and basic. OK I would say for a maximum of two nights. We had a fjord view room which I think is worth it as it madevthe room feel less small. The shower was very small and flooded the tiny bathroom. We had two small single beds that were comfortable but I was worried about fall out. Despite the walls being very thin thankfully there was no noise from other guests. The food was good and nicely presented. There is not real lounge area to sit after dinner and the only place we found to go was the Viking pub in the centre about a 10 minute walk. There is free tea and coffee all day in reception as no facilities in the room

Cette pension à environ 500 m de la gare est bien située au bord du fjord. La chambre que nous avons eue est très mal équipée avec 2 lits de 70 cm de large et seulement un siège et le tout pour une surface d’environ 12 m2 sans télévision ni luxe de quelque façon que ce soit. La salle de bain est minuscule et lorsque l’on s’est douché, presque tout le sol de la salle est trempé. Le repas du soir est inclus dans le prix mais est du style familial. Le prix demandé de 5390 couronnes avec le repas du soir et le petit déjeuner est très exagéré et passablement plus cher qu’une belle grande chambre dans un hôtel luxueux à Oslo avec un luxueux buffet du petit déjeuner. Cette façon de fixer le prix est déplorable et joue en leur défaveur.

There’s not a lot of selection in Flam, so we took what we could find. This was just ok. We got stuck in a room on the bottom floor at the end, which had minimum amenities and walls thin enough to hear the snoring from the guy in the next room. The view was nice because it was further away from the “town” center, so it didn’t get blocked by the cruise ship that pulled in, but that can remedied by a little trek around the harbor. Breakfast was minimal and the eggs were gone by the time we arrived, around 8:30. Dinner was good, but one option, if you’re looking for choices. If I were return, I’d explore other options.

Ich schreibe wirklich äußerst selten negative Kommentar zu Hotels oder Restaurants. Dieser hier wird eher auf der negativen Seite sein. Aber fangen wir mal mit dem Positiven an: die Lage ist schön. Direkt am Fjord gelegen, wenige Fußminuten vom Ortszentrum entfernt. Frühstück ist auch ok. Das war es dann leider auch. Die Zimmer sind ein Witz. Eher auf Jugendherbergsniveau, denn auf Hotelniveau. Das Bad ist so klein, dass man sich kaum drin bewegen kann - und ich bin schlank! Flexibilität im Restaurant ist sehr begrenzt - wir hatten (mit entsprechend bestätigter Voranfrage, ob ein Essen möglich sei) zwei Personen mit einer Fischallergie (die soweit geht, dass selbst intensiver Fischgeruch ein Problem darstellt). Zugegeben ein Problem - die Details hatten wir aber angekündigt und um ehrliche Angabe gebeten, ob wir in diesem Kontext essen können. Vor Ort kam dann der Vorschlag draussen (eher kalt) oder in einem einigermaßen verwaisten Aufenthaltsraum zu essen. Essen (auch für die "Fischesser") war auch eher auf Jugendherbergsniveau. Fazit: den hohen Preis können die nur aufrufen, weil sie von Touristen überrannt werden, die mit der Flåm-Bahn fahren wollen oder mal den Fjord von unten sehen wollen. This hotel is a lengthy walk from the train station. Thankfully, it is a gorgeous walk! We were greeted by a less than enthusiastic young woman behind the counter. We had booked two rooms. She asked what time we’d like dinner. We told her a time, but after noticing that the menu is set for dinner, we decided to go elsewhere (go to the Flam Marina to eat!). Our room was tidy and clean. The bathroom was very small with a shower that had to be “put together”. The water from the shower would flood the bathroom after each use. We opened the small window in the shower, but were immediately inundated with flies. There’s definitely a nest of sorts by the window. Breakfast was uneventful. Not many food offerings in the cramped buffet area. They were out of yogurt, and because the employees were gathered in the kitchen talking, I told the front desk young woman. She was less than happy with me telling her that they were out of yogurt. I was surprised by her lack of being kind. We booked our vacation through Firebird, and our information from Firebird told us check-out was at 12pm. After using the floating sauna and jumping in the fjord, we went into town for coffee and pastries. We got back to the hotel at 10:45am to shower and pack to take a ferry to Bergen. At 11am, the front desk woman knocked on our door asking when we were leaving. I didn’t open the door as I had just gotten out of the shower. I told her through the door that we’d be out soon. Then at 11:30am there was another knock at the door. My husband opened it to the same woman rudely saying we must leave the hotel or she would have to charge us. I told her I thought check-out was at 12pm via Firebird, and her response was “Check-out has always been at 11am” and she left. I checked the signage in the room and nothing said check-out was at 11am. We quickly left our room within 3 minutes and had our adult daughters leave their room within 5 minutes. I would not recommend staying here. The only plus is the view from the room. The employees, breakfast, and bathroom are less than desired. We will be back to Flam to bike and will stay elsewhere. There are better options.
