Merchants Manor Spa

Stayed Saturday and Sunday night. Friendly welcome and a room upgrade. All the staff were really friendly, special mention to Simon. I recommend the Sunday sleepover which includes a fabulous roast. Easy walk into town. Will definitely return.

I’m extremely disappointed with the state of the gym and spa facilities at Merchants Manor. When I first joined, I expected a clean, well-maintained environment, but unfortunately, it has gone rapidly downhill. First and foremost, the presence of black mould in the spa area is completely unacceptable—it’s both unpleasant and a serious health hazard. The jacuzzi has never worked , with no clear sign of when (or if) it will be fixed. There is also no sauna, despite this being advertised as part of the facilities. The decking outside is dangerously slippery, making it an accident waiting to happen ( I see accidents out there a lot and slip most days ). Myself and others have asked numerous times for the management to sort out a rubber mat to walk across but nothing has happened.To make matters worse, the two deck chairs provided are covered in black mould, making it impossible to use them comfortably. And yet, despite all these issues, management has decided to increase membership prices by 30%! It’s outrageous to demand more money when the quality of service is rapidly declining. I strongly urge potential members to look elsewhere until these issues are properly addressed. I certainly won’t be recommending this place unless serious improvements are made.

A lovely chilled weekend away, calm so relaxing, staff amazing, thankyou for making our weekend. Room was amazing, bed really comfy best couple of nights sleep, totally recharged Staff were very kind, professional, helpful, nothing was too much trouble

Had a lovely’s stay with my family over Christmas time. The staff were super nice and helpful. The restaurant was perfect and the pool facilities were very relaxing. I would highly recommend it if your are planning a trip to Cornwall this year.

With a little trepidation my wife and I decided to have our first Christmas away from the hustle and bustle of entertaining family. What an excellent decision we made to spend our Christmas at Merchants Manor. Without exception all the staff were friendly, efficient and made us feel at home. The food was excellent and we enjoyed a fantastic seven course christmas lunch. The hotel was beautifully decorated and we loved the 'chocolate table'. We stayed in the main hotel and our room was lovely. Enjoyed a swim and sauna on boxing day. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff (not that my wife and I are demanding) and it was lovely to meet other couples enjoying their Christmas. Absolutely recommend the hotel and we would have no hesitation in visiting again. Thank you to all at Merchants Manor for making our Christmas so enjoyable

Booked a "comfy" room for the Xmas week with the property beautifully decorated for the festive season. We considered the room fully lived up to it's description with the bedding exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast, included in our booking, was to a high standard giving us a good start daily throughout our stay.
